Abstract: The cultivation of innovative talents is the strategic goal of education in China. The creative consciousness, creative spirit, creative thinking, and creative ability necessary for innovative talents are built based on independent learning by cultivating students' extensive thinking and collaborative inquiry in primary education. Information technology in senior high school is the best entry point for cultivating students' independent learning ability because of its attractive, project-based, and practical. Therefore, in the context of the information technology discipline, it is feasible and necessary to build a new teaching model consistent with independent learning to promote the development of their independent learning ability, taking into full consideration the types, characteristics, and needs of learners. This study explored the impact of an independent teaching model based on information technology discipline in senior high school on students' independent learning ability with the help of empirical research and conducted an empirical study on seven dimensions: learning motivation, learning time, learning methods, learning results, learning environment, learning process, and learning content. The semester-long teaching practice showed that the independent learning skills training based on the information technology discipline background in senior high school had stimulated students' learning motivation, promoted them to master effective independent learning methods, and improved teaching quality. Finally, based on the teaching practice and effectiveness, the cases and activities of applying this strategy to organize effective teaching were summarized, providing a reference for similar teaching practices.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to explore the contextual meaning of Absorptive Capacity (ACAP) in the higher education institution (HEI) domain. The ACAP concept has been widely researched in the management of businesses. However, managing knowledge is crucial, not only in business organizations but also in the HEI which is a knowledge intensive domain. This is necessary as there is a need to bring out a clear understanding of the terminologies that are used to represent the dimensions of ACAP in academia in such a way that there are no ambiguities in their interpretations in research. This paper therefore empirically examines the conceptualization of dimensions of ACAP in order to bring coherence and clarity to the ACAP construct specifically in the HEI domain. This will broaden the knowledge-based view in terms of new knowledge creation or the addition of new knowledge to existing knowledge in the HEI domain. Employing the qualitative research design, ten (10) Heads of departments (HODs) of Business Schools in selected HEIs in the Greater Accra region of Ghana were the targeted participants selected using the purposive sampling technique in order to gather quality and reliable data. Semi-structured interviews were used to unearth in-depth information and understand the views of these faculty staff on the concept of ACAP and also to provide room for follow up questions leading to the discovery of emerging themes. Qualitative data were analyzed using the General Inductive approach to derive the contextual meaning of ACAP and its dimensions in the HEI domain. Empirical findings revealed three (3) core dimensions of ACAP as “Knowledge Search”, “Knowledge Accumulation” and “Process Transformation” within the HEI context. Innovations derived from the ACAP process in the HEI domain were found to be more beneficial to society as a whole than the ACAP process in the business domain. The compelling difference is that whilst ACAP in businesses benefits only the organization as a whole in terms of innovation performance, profitability and competitive advantage, the benefits of ACAP in academia are far more reaching as it benefits five categories of stakeholders as follows: transfers scholarly knowledge to benefit faculties, departments and the university as a whole, produces quality graduates for the job market, delivers reliable findings for industry practitioners, enhances individual academics’ research output, and boosts the image of the HEI for overall competitive advantage and sustained relevance in this knowledge economy.

Abstract: In 2020, the world discovers a new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Faced with the rapid spread and the absence of scientific treatments, public health measures are being tested. They are mainly linked to the reduction of population gatherings and the closure of gathering places. One of the institutions affected by the closure is the school. This closure is at the origin of the remodeling of relations between the different actors in education. How have the actors organized themselves to maintain consultation relationships in the context of the closure of classrooms? We have mobilized a socio-anthropological approach to answer this question. It consisted of conducting interviews with the various actors and observing their behavior during the time when classes were closed. Field work shows communication technologies have been mobilized to maintain contact between parents and teachers in the context of class closures. However, this attitude was not observed in all parents. The factor that made the difference in the behavior of parents of students was cultural capital. Thus, the time of the closure of schools in the dynamics of the fight against the disease was a time of revelation of social inequalities.

Abstract: Our main point to be developed refers to that Education and culture are fundamental elements to achieve progress in all spheres of life, especially treated in Ecuador, such as, health, feeding, security, and certainly education for all, among others. National census and international organizations have concluded that there is an increasing number of students that have dropout from school; a revision of dropout rates is performed. An additional problem is that according to the Council of Nationalities and Peoples of Ecuador (CODENPE), there are 14 nationalities and 18 different indigenous peoples in Ecuador with their own languages. Many of this potential young students, living in isolated areas, with economical vulnerability and working mainly in agriculture, are not exposed to education, mainly High School Education, thus, they may have access to online learning, any time, any place, any climate, with connectivity solutions through info centers and bilingual quality teachers. One possible solution could be to have info centers with excellent connectivity, open to the community without cost and especially dedicated to high school students. Another important point is to prepare native potential teachers through quality pedagogical programs, not only with technology knowledge but also with online experience and acquaintance with andragogy. A suggested list of online courses that could be prepare for teachers, with their descriptors, are presented at the end of the paper.

Abstract: To prepare students for the jobs and careers of tomorrow, different skills are needed to be taught in the K-12 setting. Students need to know how to make better decisions, manage achievement related stress, and ultimately, establish purposeful self-advocacy. Higher order thinking skills that academics promote rarely overlap with the domain of building self-knowledge. In fact, in today’s academic environment, the effort to imbibe self-awareness practices in our classrooms are often met with fear, frustration and pushback. This study will focus on the overlap of learning and building self-knowledge. This study is based on a project-based learning program called Orbis. The Orbis Program is in the Ankeny Community School District in Ankeny, Iowa, and offers elective courses designed to engage teams of students from several area high schools. In partnership with the workforce, the program aims to solve real problems and improve the local and global community. The mission statement of Orbis is to “Unleash passion. Realize potential. Impact the world.” Skills specifically focused throughout the program include leadership, problem-solving and collaboration. Student experiences are grounded leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Authentic problems lead to project ideas, and students’ passions are matched to projects. Because students’ passions direct their project work and learning, no two students have the same Orbis experience. All students have some common experiences, and yet each student has an individualized, personalized experience in which they have an active voice in designing. Project-based learning programs are frequently being expanded in many K-12 schools. Many programs are developed to provide students opportunities to enhance 21st century skills. 21st century skills comprise skills, abilities, and learning dispositions that have been identified as being required for success in society and workplaces. These skills can be defined as collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving and others. The secondary students in the project-based program in this study got partnered with other students to engage in real-world problems that are presented from the local community or initiated by the students themselves. The results from the study show overall growth in self-direction, role awareness and self-belief from participation in the program.

Abstract: With the development of computer networks and social media, photographic images are becoming more and more widely used in art, daily life and business. Technical difficulties have been gradually solved by camera manufacturers, and creating photographic works seems to become much simpler. In today's technological and cultural context, teachers' teaching contents and methods should be gradually improved in order to improve the teaching quality of art photography-related courses and promote students to create excellent art photography works. Fictional art photography has an important place in the history of early photography and in the development of modern art. Teachers should focus on analyzing the creative methods of typical fictional art photographers. The creation of excellent fictional artworks requires a remarkable imagination. Imagination through meditation, imagination through key words, and imagination through sketching are three ways to effectively stimulate imagination in teaching. The ability to set the scene is a fundamental skill in the art of fictional photography, and it is very important, but often under-appreciated in teaching. In teaching scenography ability, students need to learn the master photographers' high planning ability, rigorous attitude and meticulous working style. Due to the limited funds available for teaching, students need to be encouraged to use low-cost scenery solutions as much as possible. In order to achieve better artistic results, teachers should also guide students to highlight traditional national aesthetic features and contemporary characteristics in their scenes. In this paper, we discuss the importance of fictional photography, the importance of stimulating students' imagination, and the importance of teaching photographic scenography to improve the teaching of fictional art photography, and provide suggestions for improving the teaching of these three priorities. It is hoped that this will provide some inspiration for improving the teaching of art photography in higher education.

Abstract: This work seeks to reflect upon the importance of critical training in the use of digital media in educational contexts. In such a period in which the school is necessarily forced to become 'digital', one wonders if this complex, and probably necessary, path of renewal brings along an equally and devoted commitment regarding better practices concerning educational intentionality with the use of the new technologies. Therefore, it is in this direction that we have chosen to bring critical research about a reading experience in the Brazilian context. It is an experience that highlights the importance of a perspective of social emancipation where action and reflection are intimately connected and translate into the promotion of a "praxis" that is critically deepened against the hegemonic thought of neoliberalism, which is, at the same time, dispersive. We defend a reading perspective against the manipulations of oppressors who, thanks to the web, feed hate, racists, and misogynist ideas, which are contrary to any kind of equality among human beings. Along with this perspective, the role of educational agencies is invested with an enormous responsibility in promoting digital literacy that provides everyone, especially young people, with tools capable of allowing management and the critical use of the enormous amount of information in which we are immersed. Today, it is important to strive for perspectives of education based on freedom, on the autonomy and the construction of truly democratic societies, in which the benefits and responsibilities of the democratic rule of law can be shared by all people, regardless of their color, origin, religion, sex.
