Abstract: This study dealt with analysis of the textbook Master Class for 10th-grade students studying English at the 5-unit level. Content analysis was performed to determine to what extent the activities in the reading and listening units emphasize high and low-level thinking. The study attempted to answer the following questions: 1. To what extent are the cognitive levels of the activities in the Mastering Reading and Mastering Listening sections of the textbook Master Class varied? 2. To what extent do the activities in the two sections of reading and listening of Master Class textbook lead students towards levels that demand higher thinking such as analysis, synthesis, and evaluation? Content analysis was conducted for the Mastering Reading and Mastering Listening sections of each unit. The activities that were defined as units for analysis were Wh-questions, Yes/No questions, Multiple Choice questions, Complete the sentence, and statement and request questions. The activities were collected, listed, and analyzed according to Bloom's Taxonomy: low order thinking skills: knowledge, comprehension, and application, and high order thinking skills: analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. The researchers then calculated the percentage and frequencies in which each level of cognition appeared for each separate unit and for all six units combined. The results indicated that the research tools used by the two researchers were valid and reliable. The results showed that 114 activities emphasized levels of cognition representing lower order thinking skills, while only 59 activities emphasized the three higher order thinking skills. The activities in the Master Class textbook place a great deal of emphasis upon comprehension, which is one of the lower order thinking skills. Additional studies are recommended in the area of content analysis of English instruction textbooks intended for various age levels in the Arab Sector. Such studies would shed light upon the role of textbooks in developing cognitive skills among Arab students.

Abstract: This study investigates the current external marketing strategies and school public relations for elementary schools in Taiwan and their correlation. The collected data were analyzed and processed using a Pearson’s product-moment correlation, canonical correlation, and multiple regression statistical methods. The analysis results indicated the marketing strategy dimensions; teachers had the highest perceptions of price strategy, and the lowest perceptions of the course design-related product strategy. In the public relations dimensions, communication dissemination achieved the highest score, and the planning decisions dimension received the lowest score. Moreover, the external marketing strategy and public relations of schools showed a moderate correlation; and the place strategy, promotion strategy, and product strategy of a school’s external marketing strategy can predict 57.5% of the variation in school public relations.

Abstract: This study aims to identify the junior high students’ awareness level of the reproductive health concepts in Gaza. To answer the questions of the study and verify its hypotheses, the researchers have implemented the descriptive approach. They have also prepared a list of reproductive health concepts, a test to measure the cognitive aspects, and an attitude scale to measure the affective aspects. The test and the attitude scale have been implemented on the study sample comprising (322) female and male students in the tenth grade of the school year (2010- 2011) from Basheer Al Rayes school, Assad Al Saftawi School, Al Ramla School, and Suleiman Sultan School. The outcomes proved that the level of the cognitive aspects and the level of the affective aspects of the awareness of the reproductive health concepts for the junior high students in Gaza is less than the hypothetical limit by 75%. There are no statistical significance differences in the awareness level of the cognitive aspects of the reproductive health concepts for the high junior students attributed to gender variable (males and females). There are no statistical significance differences in the awareness level of the affective aspects of the reproductive health concepts for the junior high students attributed to gender variable (males and females) in the total degree.

Abstract: This research is focused on developing an e-learning model that can be used by academic departments and colleges in the University of Tabuk and other Saudi universities to monitor and evaluate the quality of their distance education programs and courses. Although extensive research has been done in the U.S. and other countries regarding distance education quality standards and measures, as of yet, no significant efforts have been made toward establishing such standards in Saudi Arabia. The model states that online learning must be assessed from a holistic perspective; that is, all six aspects outlined in this model must be considered and asked and taken into account to an equal extent. The model is constructed of three levels, as follows: 175 benchmarks are categorized and stored in 27 “sub-factors” and 6 main factors/building-blocks. These factors represent a cluster of related benchmarks that are mostly centered on a specific aspect of online settings.

Abstract: Women inequality is one of the issues used to criticize the policy in Islamic World. Social inequality fueled the outbreak of the Arab Spring. Ongoing plight across Arab counties had not achieved successful resolution. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz focused on modernizing the deeply conservative Saudi society, governed by Sharia'a law, through Science diplomacy. Under his leadership, the kingdom's diplomatic relation with the developed countries was empowered allowing transfer of modern scientific education equally for both men and women. This included the overhauled of the existing scientific educational & research institutions, introducing new institutions with state of the art scientific facilities, promoting technology exchange of various research programs with international scientific institutions, establishment of the first mixed-gender post graduate university , involving international faculties &students , scholarship program allowed male & female students to study at developed countries. The gender gap in university registration, Saudi Arabia ranks no. 25th. Saudi women are vigorously pursuing higher education especially in science at a rate greater than Saudi men & Western women. They are becoming pioneers in a variety of fields, most prominently in science and research, assigned in different types of posts which were not allowed, such as work in industry, leading decision making government, private sector posts & Shura cabinet members. They are receiving international awards, granted patents for their ideas and innovations. King Abdulaziz first class Saudi medal awarded to women scientists.

Abstract: Physics instruction is difficult, especially for advanced knowledge acquisition. In the literature, many effective improvements on physics instruction were reported. On the other hand, multiple solution methods were considered as effective pedagogy for advanced knowledge acquisition, but there were only limited controlled studies on such methods. Therefore, the original goal of this study was to design a multiple solution method and perform quasi-experiments to investigate the effectiveness of the multiple solution method. The results of the experiments in this study indicated that no improvement was obtained with the multiple solution method. However, investigation of the experiment data and learning behavior of the subjects revealed that there was presumably a gender effect of the multiple solution method, a gender effect opposite to the ordinary one. Although the confirmation of the gender effect requires further investigation, this finding is interesting in that it may help point out a new direction to improve physics instruction design.

Abstract: There have been many investigations into the factors that underlie variations in individual student performance in high school physics courses. Numerous studies report a positive correlation between students’ mathematical skills and their exam grades in high school physics The purpose of my study was to determine the effect of mathematical misconception that is one of the reasons the lack of students success in kinematics teaching.

Abstract: The potential generated by ICT in education raises reflect on the underlying frameworks. In this sense, the fractality is an opportunity to explain how it organizes and manages virtual education. This approach recognizes that educational dynamics are recursive and iterative processes instituted as progressive sequences, by way of fractals. This understanding allows for mediated and articulated successive levels. In each dimension own activities are embodied and in turn, it involves the recurrence of subsequent levels as possible solving of problem situations. Thus, the knowledge built in response to a collaborative action, participation in networks, ranging from autonomous to the cultural level or conversely.

Abstract: Communicative competence is not confined to the communicators’ ability to make their utterance adapt to the context, because communicators take a leading position in dynamic process of communication. In order to make the communication successful, communicators should also learn to take advantage of the dynamic properties of context to select the most appropriate contexts to comprehend the utterance and construct a context which is beneficial to them. This will indicate a new look at the research on communicative competence. This paper will give some implications for improving communicative competence in English teaching on the basis of the dynamic property of the context and communication
