Abstract: Universal design for learning is an effective means to improve students’ learning effects and to improve lecturers’ instructional design, which may benefit improving teaching quality of higher education under new situation in China. This paper carried out the learning resource design according to UDL theory by setting mechanics of material subject as an example, which aims to integrate the main principles of UDL theory into inclusive course design. By applying UDL theory, ICARE model and novel technical means, the course design details have been expounded from teaching representation means for lecturers, action and expression means for learners, and engagement means for learners, respectively. The benefits of integrating UDL into course design for lectures, learners and daily teaching activities are analyzed as well. The work in this paper would have a great significance to promote the integration of UDL theory, advanced teaching philosophy, and novel technical means into learning course design to improve teaching efficiency of lecturers and learning outcome of learners.

Abstract: Mental sub-health problems are common among college students, and the existing mental health education in universities can no longer meet the needs. Reading therapy has been applied to mental health treatment for a long time. The purpose of this study is to explore the advantages, measures and effects of reading therapy for college students, and to provide references for education mental health of college students. The research methods in this paper include theoretical analysis and practical verification. The researcher analyzed three advantages of reading therapy for college students, less time and space limitations, wider group coverage, and privacy protection. The researcher analyzed the specific measures of reading therapy for college students, opening the reading treatment site, expanding the types of reading books and setting up the reading treatment group. The researcher conducted practical verification in Jiangsu University, conducted reading treatment experiments on 74 college students, obtained data with SCL scale, and completed SPSS statistical analysis. The result showed that the SCL scale data of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the curative effect was significant. The conclusion of the study is that reading therapy combined with specific measures can effectively carry out mental health education in college students.

Abstract: Aiming at training on the innovation ability of professional degree graduates in applied technical universities, we consider using empirical research method and comparative research method to explore the basic and important ideas on this topic. Specifically, we chose Shanghai Dianji University and University of California, Berkeley as the research objects. Shanghai Dianji University is one of applied technical universities, while University of California, Berkeley is one of world-renowned universities. In cultivation the innovation ability of professional degree graduates, University of California, Berkeley has not only made successful general experience, and also has distinct character. First, we will focus our attention on the aspects of common, and then discuss its characteristic. To train professional degree graduates into leaders in future engineering, University of California, Berkeley forms a complete and distinctive style in the training objectives, application for admission, curriculum design and quality assurance. These are very inspiring for the development of professional degree education. Learning its practice and concrete measures is helpful to explore the training way of professional degree graduates innovation ability in Shanghai Dianji University. As result, the innovation ability of professional degree graduates will be improved, the employment satisfaction and social welcome of professional degree graduate will be enhanced and increased. So this reflection and research is very useful and necessary.

Abstract: Since design education gets more importance nowadays a more effective teaching and learning model enhancing students' creativity becomes badly in need. The division between two categories of design schools also adds to the complexity of the given challenge towards innovation. To tackle this task many thoughts were collected and one special means developed to bridge the gap between theories and practice in design schools, namely the “Warp and Woof Method”. The warp and woof method trains designers in a practice-focused learning process, where theories and knowledge acquired separately are organized for findings and building new products. New courses are fitted inside existing curriculum to transform it into trans-disciplinary one. The STEM course forms the missing warp in a curriculum of art and design schools, while a project-based creative course serves as a strong woof building up the fabric of designer training for all design schools. The applications involved examples and feedback from universities in China. STEM course was carried out in BIT in Zhuhai and the project-based design course was done in Qilu University of Technology in Jinan, China. Both cases involved teaching with Warp and Woof Method combining lecture and practice. Students' feed back were very positive and open to improvements.

Abstract: In the main part of this text an analysis of the objectives expected as part of the assessment of a student’s “performance” in sociopolitical education subjects is provided. Αt the same time, a detailed explanation is given of how relevant the concept of a student’s “performance” is, as regards many of his/her qualities assessed through the assessment process in question. Initially, an attempt is made to explain how and why each assessment, either of students or the learning process, is linked with values deriving from the dominant culture at the time and aligned linearly with the dominant-ruling perceptions in the field of education and society. The analysis is based on a bibliographic approach with the most significant of its secondary objectives being to promote the link that the teaching method should have with the assessment of a student’s performance. Thus, by elaborating on the subject in such a way, useful recommendations are indirectly made to the teacher of sociopolitical education subjects concerning even the key objectives that his teaching approach, methods and content should exhibit, as far as the students are concerned, both in primary and secondary education.
