Abstract: Based on the analysis of the natural ecological conditions, yield, quality, brand, equipmen, technology, planting distribution, planting benefits, policy and social service in the Pima cotton-growing region of the United States, the following advantages and successful experiences of Pima cotton production in the United States were clarified: first, USA Pima cotton producing area is mainly concentrated in San Joaquin Valley (SJV) of California, where the water supply is enough, water and soil conservation good, light and heat resources abundant; second, the average planting scale in 2013-2017 was 788 32.8 hm2/ year, with the total yield of 127 540 t/year,the average yield per unit of 1 613.10 kg/hm2. The Pima cotton yield of the United States accounted for 25.1-47.0% of total ELS production in the world, ranking first among all ELS planting countries. American Pima cotton is shown in strong fiber strength, good micronaire value, proper uniformity, high color grade and leaf grade. So American Pima cotton is the most influential, it has become a popular raw material for textile enterprises to produce high-grade cotton fabrics. The raw materials for many brands of cotton textiles are designated as Pima cotton. The final net income of the farm owner is an average of $555/hm2. third, equipment material and technology is practical, advanced. The high yield and pest-resistant variety, high-efficient new fertilizers with low pollution, new pesticides (including herbicides, pesticides, defoliation ripener, chemical regulator), the integration of water, fertilizer and drugs, remote monitoring and control, as well as all kinds of modern agricultural machinery, advanced processing and testing equipment, all of which are first and widely used in the United States. Fourth, feasible and reliable modernized intensive farm management mode with large-scale agricultural machinery operation; fifth, although high production cost of American Pima cotton, high-efficient social services and policy support system, as well as reasonable planting distribution, good brand influence, synchronization of high yield and good quality with large-scale benefits. In a word, advantages and successful experiences of American Pima cotton production can provide other countries, especially China, Egypt with good reference and models in ELS production, and then the world ELS production level will be comprehensively improved.

Abstract: Rock melon (Cucumis melo Linn), one of the most popular and delicious fruits of Malaysia has great potential for commercial development. Currently, rock melon is most widely cultivated under rain shelter structure using soilless culture. This study aimed to determine the effect of mycorrhiza, various fertilizer and planting media applications on growth performance of rock melon (Cucumis melo Linn cv. Glamour) in open area. The experiment comprised the following treatments: T1 = Medium A - Mycorrhizal + Inorganic fertilizer, T2 = Medium A + Mycorrhiza + Organic fertilizer, T3 = Medium A + Mycorrhiza + Inorganic fertilizer, T4 = Medium A - Mycorrhizal + Organic fertilizer, T5 = Medium B + Mycorrhiza + Organic fertilizer, T6 = Medium B + Mycorrhiza + Inorganic fertilizer, T7 = Medium B - Mycorrhiza + Organic fertilizer and T8 = Medium B - Mycorrhiza + Inorganic fertilizer. Medium A consisted of Peat moss + Perlite + Vermiculite while Medium B comprised Peat moss + Perlite + Vermiculite + Top soil. A randomised complete block design experiment with three replications was conducted at the Horticulture Research Centre plot, MARDI, Serdang. Different types of fertilizer, planting media and applications of arbuscular mycorrhizal had effects on fruit production and yield of melon as compared to control (T1). Maximum and significant yield of melon was from T6 plants. Furthermore, the maximum fruit weight and total soluble solids of 1350 g and 14.25 °Brix, respectively, were from T6 treated plants and the minimum was from T4 (717 g and 10.17 °Brix, respectively). The presence of the indigenous arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculums in planting media was successful in colonizing plant roots, resulting in better plant growth and significantly enhanced yield of rock melon. This study suggested the possibility of applying moderate combinations of planting media with mycorrhiza in producing good quality and high yield of rock melon.

Abstract: "Leyi 1" was the Cucumber, high yield, strong resistance, and suitable for processing into the old salting melons crisp .It was breeded by cooperating between Qinzhou Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Guangxi Dexi Agricultural E-Commerce Co. Ltd by selecting of the excellent mutation plant through the multi-generation cultivation and observation of local cucumber mutants. In 2016, it passed the review of New vegetable variety Approval Committee in Guangxi, and the certification number was Guishen Vegetable 2016003.“Leyi 1”is a new cucumber again developed by Qinzhou Vegetable Station, after the successful breeding of processing cucumber "Qinyu No.1”. "Leyi 1" is the cucumber of infinite growth, climbing herb, strong growth potential, high-yield and easy management. Its stems are thick, quadrangular, deeper green, Large leaf, and Medium side vine. The whole growth period of "Leyi 1" is about 120 days in spring cultivation, collected 55~60 days after sowing (about 110 days, and collected 40~45 days after sowing in summer and autumn). “Leyi 1” had succeeded in enriching the raw material melon resources of the traditional cucumber of melons crisp processing industry in Qinzhou. Now, it had been popularized in Qinzhou, and we had explored a set of “Leyi 1" High yield seeding production techniques, In order to further expanding the area of fieldstone.

Abstract: Salmonella is a zoonotic disease widely spread in the environment, causing serious economic losses to the world. Objective: To improve people's understanding of Salmonella disease and reduce economic losses. Methods: Based on the recent research progress, the biochemical characteristics, clinical manifestations, laboratory detection methods and preventive measures of bacteria were discussed in this paper. Conclusion: Salmonella infection in China is becoming more and more serious, which has caused great harm to pig industry and even human beings.
