Abstract: The present study seeks to explore the polemical features of the struggle against the denial of the Armenian Genocide in the detective novel “The Armenian Gate” by Wilfrid Eggers. The focus of the research is the first part of the novel, which with its content and form, plot lines, and gradual character development can be interpreted as a short story within the genre of the epic form. The main situation that reveals the nature of the character, is created by the intersection of two conceptual templates of the political discourse “Turks and Armenians - a complicated relationship”, and the dichotomy of truth-justice and falsehood-distortion. Accordingly, the study of the polemical preconditions of the research material, the bipolar opposition between truth and falsehood was suggested. The author exposes the official political path of impunity and concealment of the past. W. Eggers brings to the forefront of literature the discussions and debates organized by Turkish communities in various countries regarding the fact of the Armenian Genocide and tries to capture their essence, the spread of the ideology of distortion and rejection of the fact of the Genocide. The author's concern about the Turkish policy extends beyond the massacre of Armenians. He sees in this policy the massacres of Greeks, Jews, Kurds, Zazas, Assyrians implemented by the Turks. In this sense, the novel is also humanistic. In the novel, the character of Turk Ali Soylemyozoghlu acts as the commissioner. He believes that the advertised discussion is a dialogue for peace. On the other side of the conflict, memory associations are not accepted as a tendency to preserve one’s own past, but rather an obligation to learn and reflect upon it. The character is pushed to renounce religious and educational dogmas and to abandon illusions. This is considered the main polemical prerequisite, which creates the possibility for character expansion and acquisition of new typical traits. In this sense, Anahit Petrosyan's individual struggle evolves into an idea that unites all Armenians.

Abstract: The study focused on development and validation of evidenced-based test items as a means of improving the skill assessment of student in learning Service Station Mechanic work and Petrol Engine Maintenance work at the technical college. The study adopted instrumentation design and was carried out in Ekiti and Ondo states. The population of the is 125 technical three student (final year student) in the study area. A101 evidenced-based test items was developed and utilized by the study. The instrument was subjected to face and content validation by experts from Measurement and Evaluation and subject matter experts respectively from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Federal University of Technology, Minna. The psychometrics properties of the items were first determined by administering the instrument on a pilot sample drawn outside the study area. The reliability of the instrument was determined by using split-half technique and Kudder-Richardson KR-20, and it yielded a coefficient of 0.87 for service station mechanic work and 0.86 for petrol engine maintenance work. Percentages, indices of difficulty, discrimination, distractors and KR-20 were utilized in answering the research questions. It was revealed by the study that the items of the evidenced-based test had a difficulty indices between 0.30 and 0.70, discrimination of not less than 0.20, positive distraction. It was therefore recommended by the study that the examination bodies and classroom teachers should adopt the evidenced-based test in the certification of their student and also in assessing the level of the skill possessed by the student during classroom instruction.

Abstract: Foreigners are restricted to own land plots and residential houses in Vietnam. Nonetheless, it is revealed in practice that foreigners may evade those restrictions by way of arranging nominee ownership for their Vietnamese spouses. This article discusses the legality and the lawful rights that foreigners may enjoy in case of disputing with their Vietnamese nominees or spouses by evaluating the latest jurisprudences developed in Vietnam over recent years. It is likely that in practice, the Vietnamese court recognizes that foreigners can only be reimbursed for their monetary contribution and is not entitled to co-hold the property title. To address this issue, the Vietnamese Government is currently amending the Law on Land and the Law on Housing, aiming to relax the restrictions on foreigners owning land use rights and residential houses in Vietnam. However, from a regulatory standpoint, this relaxation alone may not meet the high demand in the real estate market or effectively discourage foreigners from resorting to nominee arrangements. An alternative solution could be to establish the recognition of trust agreements between the true owner and the nominee. By adopting this approach, foreigners would still be able to retain the land use rights and ownership of the house without violating the restrictions outlined in the Law on Land and the Law on Housing.

Abstract: Given the progressive phenomenon of violence in our daily lives, there is an urgent need for an appropriate approach, mainly in the community, a space where citizens spend their time, displaying experiences, learning and links that are especially significant there. Contemporary societies are demonstrating the need for a paradigm shift around conflict resolution, since the high and complex conflictivity of the context demands different responses to those traditionally given. It is essential to find a tool capable of fostering synergistic relationships and building common and vital areas that interpret differences and the possible clash of interests as training instruments and forgers of a culture of peace, which can be appropriated and replicated in various spheres such as the family, the school, the club, the neighborhood, the work spaces. Is there the possibility that mediation is the appropriate path of justice to solve conflicts and show another way of relating to humans? Is this form of communication and interaction linking the key to reach new answers to this linking crisis in human coexistence since it implies the active participation of all parties in the solution of the conflict, it poses it not as a mere crime but as a fact interactional, always considering the need for a subsequent subjective relationship, recognition of the damage, responsibility and reparation, de-victimization and collaboration of all the protagonists in solving the problem? To carry out this analysis, a documentary investigation of the current systems of administration of justice was carried out, observing the success of the so-called alternative methods of dispute resolution (or conflicts), their attachment to self-compositive justice, finding that mediation is a method primary choice to any other, with increasing success and progressive acceptance in society. Hence, it is possible to conclude that mediation, as an alternative practice, is considered the necessary response to a high escalation of social conflict, closely linked to human rights and the creation of new modalities of justice and cooperation, as opposed to its passive reception and the experience of anomie, relational deterioration and lack of citizen satisfaction that the courts are throwing.
