Abstract: In this paper, through using the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) data and comparing with Chinese data, the result shows that the overall, labor-intensive, capital-intensive and technology-intensive manufacure of China all have low servitization degree, which results the Chinese manufature stays in the low stage of the global value chain. At the same time, the empirical analysis on the level of intellectual property protection and the servitization of manufacture shows that the improvement of intellectual property protection can contribute to the integration of manufacturing and service, and this role in technology-intensive manufacturing is more obvious. This study also finds that the proportion of employment in service sector, the competitiveness of manufacture will positively promote the overall and different factors intensive manufacturing servitization degrees, while the level of innovation and economic freedom will inhibit the servitization of manufacture.

Abstract: For solving crane scheduling problem in steelmaking-continuous casting process, a hybrid method of integrating genetic algorithm and simulation was formulated to minimize the operation time of tasks by considering full ladles, empty ladles and auxiliary tasks as transportation tasks. The crane selected sequence was designed as chromosome coding. The initial population was generated by employing the crane selection rules in the simulation model, and then evolved optimized by using the genetic operations such as selection, crossover and mutation. The chromosome is evaluated through generating a feasible crane schedule by employing the attribute updating rules and collision eliminating rules in the simulation model. The new crane scheduling could be generated through simulation model based on the new species. Therefore, more excellent individuals will be produced along with the evolutionary process. Thus a better crane scheduling scheme could be obtained finally. In the process of initialization, the high quality initial population was generated in the simulation model. In the iterative process, simulation model also could generate the feasible crane scheduling schemes based on the given cranes selection sequence. To validate this model, experiments were conducted by using the production data in the casting span of a steel plant. The results demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of this method, which provides a useful tool for crane scheduling in actual production.

Abstract: The cooperation in cold chain logistics across the straits has its origin in the “Cross-Straits Economic Cooperation Committee” for the Economic Cooperation Framework Arrangement (ECFA) established in 2011. Under the arrangement, Tianjin and Xiamen in China will be the two demonstration cities for pilot running of cross-straits cold chain logistics. In Taiwan, the Ministry of Economic Affairs will orchestrate the program and integrated with the industry in the formation of the “Cross-Straits Cold Chain Logistics Technology and Service Federation” with a view to combining the momentum of the industry and the formation of an alliance to launch for collective deployment. This has been a success in matching the enterprises and organizations in cold chain across the straits with the signing of more than 39 MOU or contracts, and brought about new business opportunities for the industry and logistics service sector of Taiwan with the result of NT$1.76 billion worth of investment and purchase. In China, effort has been made lately in regulating and standardizing cold chain food. The cold chain business in Taiwan must fully under the rules and standard of international operation so as to get the grip of the opportunity of internationalization and develop global competitive power. Taiwan is at an ideal location in Asia-Pacific and the logistics business has been well-developed with advanced technology and supply chain management service. With ECFA as an advantage, industry chain integration and optimization of operation efficiency could be accomplished through the development of system platform and standardization for the joint inspection across the straits in information sharing, and the establishment of the system for joint packaging, and storage standards under a set of uniform rules. The cold chain industry structure could also be developed into a global business chain more efficiently so that Taiwan could be the base in Asia Pacific for value adding the extent to which the cold chain logistics industry in Taiwan could extend all over Asia and even the whole world.

Abstract: Compared to government workloads which are often irregular, police work contains many aspects, each of which is held to specific performance standards. Past literature has investigated individual cases and made selective comparisons, yet is lacking in overall work analyses. Police authorities must be able to assess the work performances of each police station to ensure the balance of investments and returns while also investigating overall work performance, rather than solely looking at individual cases. This study used objective analysis to evaluate the 2014 work performances of Kaohsiung City Police Department police stations (Taiwan) in 00 Precinct in order to determine the quality of work performance so that the heads of each unit can improve any insufficiencies in accordance with objectives and improve the competitiveness of police work. As such, the Delphi Technique was used to calculate the weight for several key indicators for 00 Precinct; then, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) was used to arrange these indicators according to 00 Precinct police station work performance ratings. Nine police stations (A1-A9) and seven indicators (number of police officers, population in area of jurisdiction, total number of criminal cases, number of solved cases, number of traffic accidents, number of traffic tickets issued, and number of cases accepted via 110) were included in this study to assess the work performances of each station. The number of police officers was divided by the population in area of jurisdiction to obtain a police-to-population ratio for a total of six C values. The results indicated that among the nine police stations, A1 had the highest administrative performance in 00 Precinct; its Ci value of 55.95% showed that this police station had the best work performance.

Abstract: The objective of this article is to analyse the degree and characteristics of the labour insertion of the graduates of the Faculty of Law when comparing them with the rest of graduates of the University of Barcelona, taking into account the sex, labour situation during the university pathway and the average academic grade. The data comes from the Labour Insertion Survey to the graduated population of Catalan universities carried out by the Agency for Quality of the University System of Catalonia (AQU) in 2014. The sample used corresponds to 3,425 university graduates in the University of Barcelona. The technique used is bivariate and multivariate analysis. For the comparative analysis we used contingency tables and for the explanatory, bivariate logistic regression. The results show that the employment situation of all graduates of the Faculty of Law is characterized by a high degree of occupation. Stability in employment on fixed contracts is higher in men than in women; the full-time work is predominantly homogeneous in both groups, and the monthly salary shows an inequality between women and men, the women have the most precarious conditions. In this way, the results obtained allow us to validate two hypotheses and refute a third one. In the first instance, there is a positive relationship between the degree of occupation and the academic grade; secondly, gender inequality is confirmed in favour of men in terms of working conditions. Finally, unlike expected, it is observed that there is a certain adequacy or matching between the work done and the training received at the university.
