Abstract: This article investigates whether Dutch education is suitable for (grand) children of immigrants, refugees and expats with children in mainstream education. The available Dutch sociological, educational and psychological research in education and, apart from that, the education output data are the input for this investigation. The conclusion is that Dutch education should examine their consciences because on all fronts (grand) children of immigrants, refugees and expats with children in mainstream education do worse in Dutch education than (grand) children of original Dutch heritage. Children of immigrants, refugees and expats with children in mainstream education often experience disadvantage and deprivation in Dutch education. UNESCO claims that Civil Society Organizations must be held responsible to prevent (grand) children of immigrants, refugees and expats from experiencing disadvantage and deprivation in Dutch education. The tasks of these Civil Society organisations are: a) hold states accountable for their legal obligations, b) bring education concerns to the attention of a state, c) safeguard the right to education, such as providing tailor-made education as a human right, and e) hold states responsible for violations, such as disadvantage, deprivation, discrimination and exclusion.

Abstract: In the age of globalization and information, the core competitiveness among countries comes from the rising need of leadership talents, especially for young leaders. Within colleges in the United States, Leadership curriculum has been well developed, and leadership course standards as well as several theoretical models have been established. In contrast, there are no formal leadership development models in Chinese colleges. The value cultivation mechanism of Chinese college students has a lack of effectiveness. The values and principles of a leader are the key factors that determine their visions and goals. Values are the core of leadership. It is necessary to build formal leadership courses, especially the value-based leadership curriculum, in current Chinese universities and colleges. Based on Chinese values, philosophy, main national conditions and current leadership theories, a four-stage leadership development model was proposed and applied to several Chinese universities in Shanghai for several years. Specifically, this paper is based on a qualitative study that was conducted on six leadership courses in a Shanghai university of China. The two data sources included text analysis of 247 student learning summaries and focus group interviews of 34 selected outstanding student leaders. Based on the text analysis and focus group interviews, it is found that the value -based leadership development model has high student satisfaction and can help students to build positive values especially socialist core values in Chinese society. The model was approved to be more systematic and emphasizes students' subjectivity and internal psychological development trends which is from leadership psychology, leadership thinking, leadership concept to leadership behavior. It is argued that this model would help to explore value-based leadership with Chinese characteristics and can become a new way to apply value education in Chinese Colleges and Universities. Future research will focus on more empirical studies in other areas of China.

Abstract: With the deepening of China’s reform and opening up and the continuous development of the market economy, interest-driven makes moral individuals present a phenomenon of moral indifference. The moral indifference separates the moral participants into independent individuals, ignores the interpersonal interaction and assembly, and leads to the alienation of human relations and the mistrust between people, which affects the harmony and development of society and has become the bottleneck of restricting China’s moral development. How to resolve moral indifference is a social issue that is urgently needed to be solved in China. This paper tries to propose a theoretical possible solution of resolving contemporary moral indifference, that is, Care ethics. The concept of “Care Ethics” was first put forward by professor Nel. Noddings of American Stanford University in 1980, which highlights the perceptual level of care and emphasizes the intrinsic relational care. The basic idea of care ethical solution to resolve moral indifference performs in four aspects: highlighting the displacement of caregiver’s moral motivation based on moral emotion; emphasizing the construction of the ethical relationship between self and others based on the relation; meeting the real psychological needs of the cared person in a targeted manner; consolidating care behavior based on contextual factors. This paper finally finds that these possible paths will help to liberate the human nature that is currently suppressed, get out of the moral indifference, establish a good social and moral relationship, and achieve harmonious social development.
