Abstract: The research investigates how due to technological change and medical improvement since mid 20th century people's life course has expanded, followed by new social, economic and medical expectations. People in their late sixties are expecting higher standards and improved quality of life as compared with previous generations. Similarly, because of adoption of new standards including lower birth rates within the generations in their fertility life course, increasing aging is expected in the decades to come. Under such circumstances, appropriate plans and policies need you be executed to expand the emerging expectations of the elderly people. The elderly people's social security and pension system need to be modified and improved. In the absence of which the aging people will remain poor and in an uneasy quality of life.

Abstract: This paper examines the development of maritime law in China within the last five years, from the perspective of China's maritime legislations, cases and jurisdiction of the court, in light of the latest national strategies, such as building China into a maritime power, implementing the "Belt and Road" initiative and building China into an international shipping hub. Chinese maritime law is anticipating a reform. China has implemented various maritime-related laws and regulations in recent years, including the 2014 Waterway Law. Besides, the 12th National People's Congress Standing Committee has formally ratified the International Labour Organization's 2006 Maritime Labor Convention at its 16th meeting on August 29th, 2015. The Supreme People's Court has released ten maritime model cases in the conference celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing maritime court in China. These model cases offer valuable guidance to maritime trials in the future. To improve the maritime adjudication and to turn China into a judicial hub for international maritime matters, China has undertaken reform to confer maritime court with jurisdiction to hold criminal hearings. Ningbo Maritime Court held a public court hearing over the case of "Catalina". It was the first criminal hearing in the maritime court of China. New elements of reform on criminal jurisdiction were also demonstrated in the trial of the case. Another important measure taken to perfect the admiralty jurisdiction in China is the regular publication of White Papers on maritime issues. These White Papers have summarized and highlighted some of the important maritime trials by the Maritime Courts in recent years. Meanwhile, the Supreme People's Court has issued the Notice of the Supreme People's Court on Issuing the Provisions on Case Guidance, which has made specific provisions on the guiding cases. Amongst the guiding cases released, some of them are relate to maritime matter.

Abstract: Having as a framework the reality of household and family relations in Portugal, this paper focus on the marriage as part and as strategy in the process of reproduction and eventual social mobility, which has been increasingly institutionalized over time and subject to the norms and prescriptions of moral, religious and/or state order. After a brief initial reflection on marriage and its components – emotion and interest –, the motivations and the resources, the importance attached, then domestic power will be subject of analysis based on the data collected. It will be revealed the marriage property regime, the values of the assets by the partners before marriage, the division on decision making, by sex, on certain matters, and money management in the household, the couple’s shared moments, and their initiatives and forms of communication.

Abstract: This paper intends to illustrate an analysis about one of the common phonological process known as spirantization in Amharic in the framework of Optimality and Feature Geometry. The theoretical models we have been assuming - known as the linear theory of representation-was quite successful in explaining a number of facts about sound systems. A defining characteristic of the theory is the view that segments are matrices of feature values, where every segment has a specification for each of the two dozen distinctive features. There were, however, phonological realms which the theory had largely ignored, and that were spirintization and assimilation. The process of these phonological processes in Amharic language can be shown and represented in Optimality Theory and Feature Geometry more clearly than in linear phonology. The method used in this research is analytical-descriptive. Six native speakers who were selected from different age groups that ranges from 30 to 50 and different educational levels were interviewed. Furthermore, free conversation and life stories were also included in the corpus. The data gathered is phonemically transcribed following the IPA conventions as revised to 2005 and analyzed using Optimality and Feature Geometry. Amharic, which is one of the most important languages of Ethiopia, is mainly spoken in Amhara regional state of Ethiopia. The language belongs to Transversal South-Ethio-Semitic group of the Afro-Asiatic language phylum. According to the 2007 Population Census, Census (2008) report, there are around 22 million Amharic native speakers and additional 7 million second language speakers. The language spoken in this region can be divided into four general regional dialects. The investigation of the major dialectal variations and isoglosses of Amharic are scanty. The available literature identifies four major dialects of Amharic: Gojjam, Gonder, Shewa and Wollo. Although the isoglosses and internal dialectal variations are hitherto not clearly established, the literature agrees on the mutual intelligibility among the dialects of this language. In Amharic, there are two consonants which engage in spirantization process. These consonants include /b, k / which are changed to the fricatives. Lenition patterns are expressed in terms of conflicts between the effort minimization constraint, LAZY, and on the other hand a class of lenition-blocking constraints. Spirantization, for example, is analyzed in terms of rankings where LAZY dominates IDENT (x). Under the opposite ranking, spirantization is blocked. There are three major feature groups, laryngeal features, manner features and place features, which Clements calls Class Nodes. In spirantization process, in the manner node, the feature (continuant) is added to a stop consonant, producing a fricative at the same place.

Abstract: Adolescence is a period of heightened emotionality. If the adolescents cannot perceive, understand, regulate and function with their emotions it will leave indelible marks on their behaviour and personality. During adolescence (age 12 to 18 yrs), the transition from childhood to adulthood is most important. Children are becoming more independent, and begin to look at the future in terms of career, relationships, families, housing, etc. The individual wants to belong to a society and fit in. This is a major stage in development where the child has to learn the roles he will occupy as an adult. It is during this stage that the adolescent will re-examine his identity and try to find out exactly who he or she is. Emotional intelligence plays an important role in this phase. Emotional Intelligence signifies the ability to understand and manage ones as well as the others’ emotions. It refers to a combination of skills these include empathy, self control, self awareness, sensitivity to the feeling of others, persistence and self motivation among others. This paper will focus on the various theories and models related to emotional intelligence and its significance. Based on the theories and models, the researcher tried to bring out a frame work which makes a difference in the emotional Intelligence of adolescents.
