Even if, its implementation is mandatory due to many factors, it is poorly implemented in most of the health institutions in the country and resulted loss of quality nursing care. Objective:-The aim of this study was to assess the implementation status of nursing process and its’ associated factors among nurses in Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospitals. Method: -A cross-sectional study design was conducted from February to March 2017 with a total of 151 participants and 271 medical records were selected by using Simple random sampling method. The collected datachecked for accuracy, completeness and entered into epi- data version 3.1 and analyzed using SPSS version 22. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regressions were used to identify associated factors with nursing process implementation. Statistical significance interpreted using odds ratio with 95% CI & P value <0.05. Result: - A total of 151 respondents, mean age was 28.5 years and about 86 (57.6%) had implement nursing process. Working in medical ward unit [AOR=3.43, (1.01, 11. 5), surgical unit [AOR=9.59(2.21, 41.61), organized environment [AOR=4.44 (1.80, 10.95) and Good Knowledge [AOR=10.2, (3.05, 34.1) were significantly associated with the implementation of 271 medical card review 239 of the cards included nursing process registration form, amongthose 65 (24.6%) of them was found to include the nursing process and those staying in the hospital for 11-20 days and 21-30 days was [AOR= 1.8895 (1.01, 3.53) and AOR=2.84 (1.06, 7.5) were significantly associated with implementation of the nursing process. Conclusion and recommendation: In this studythe level of nursing Process implementation was suboptimal and it needs further intervention to increase its utilization. Those who had worked at medical and surgical unit, organized work environment, good knowledge and length of stay were identified as possible determinant factors for the implementation of nursing process. Health care authorities must help in promotion of the health care with employing sufficient nurses, educational training and providing necessary situations for nursing process.

Abstract: Background: Incident reporting offers valuable information regarding safety issues, but near-misses (NM) and adverse events (AE) remain underreported. DSB huddles help foster collective situational awareness that increases an organization’s capacity to respond to safety concerns. However, effects of DSB huddles on AE/NM reporting remain understudied. Objective: To examine how daily safety briefing (DSB) huddles operate in a surgical unit, and assess their impact on reporting of adverse events and near-misses. Methods: DSB huddles were piloted in a gastrointestinal surgical unit. The study compared AE/NM reporting rates and reporting types before and after adopting DSB huddles. Results: After adopting DSB huddles, AE reporting improved from 0.9% to 1.8%, and NM reporting improved from 0.5% to 7.1% (p < .05). Self-reporting of safety issues increased from 44.4% to 73.8%; NM reporting domains increased from 6 to 15. Conclusions: DSB huddles increased reporting rates of AE and of NM particularly, improved reporting dimensions of NM, and increased team members’ situational patient safety awareness.

Abstract: Objective: To explore the effect of stratified training with post obligation as the core to improve the comprehensive ability of junior nurses. Methods: 565 nurses with low seniority were divided into two groups: observation group and control group. 283 participants adopted the hierarchical training model with post obligation as the core.To determine the post responsibilities of nursing staff with low seniority on the basis of post setting and post access. According to the job responsibilities of nurses with low seniority to determine the training content of nurses with low seniority, refined comprehensive quantitative assessment standards. The assessment is taken as an important basis to test the training effect and the completion of the post responsibilities of the nursing staff with low seniority. Form a trinity of job responsibilities, training content and assessment standards training mode. The training effects of the two groups were compared. Results: The evaluation results, patient satisfaction and training satisfaction of nurses in observation group were all higher than those in control group. There were statistically significant differences between the two groups (all p < 0.05). Conclusion: Stratified training based on post obligation as the core can combine the post demand of junior nurses, improve the learning enthusiasm and post competence, and thus improve the quality of service.

Abstract: Aim of study: The study was carried out to evaluate maternal lifestyle and behavioral factors affecting the risk of spontaneous PTB. Methods: A descriptive study design was done in the postnatal ward of the Obstetrics Department at Zagazig University Hospital, Zagazig City, Al Sharkia Governorate. The sample of 200 women was assigned to two groups selected through the purposive sampling method from January to September 2017. The questionnaire was designed to collect background data of women. Also, lifestyle and behavioral features of women during pregnancy period. Results: The results of the current study showed that, there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups according to their socio-demographic characteristics group (P > 0.05). However, there was a significant relation between spontaneous preterm birth and inadequate antenatal care, short inter-pregnancy interval, and lifestyle factors (P<0.001). Moreover, serious life events and vital exhaustion during their pregnancy were significant risk factors for spontaneous preterm birth. Conclusion: There is a statistically significant relationship between inter-pregnancy intervals (less than 12 months) and increased risk of spontaneous PTB. As well as, stresses of heavy and night working associated with the risk of PTB. Serious lifestyle events for pregnant women contribute to a significant increase in the risk of PTB, where Short sleep duration or prolonged, and vital exhaustion were highly associated with an increased risk of spontaneous PTB.

Abstract: Objective: To understand whether non-pharmacological treatment can reduce intensive care units. Methods: A review was conducted by searching the literature in the CINAHL, PubMed, PsycINFO, and EMBASE database. The prevalence of sputum in the ICU is 16%-89%. It is characterized by short-term memory loss, disorientation and impaired attention. There are three types of sputum, including hyperactivity, hyperactivity, and mixing. Both pharmacology and non-pharmacology include ABCDE care bundles, sedation, early mobilization, promotion of personal sleep quality, reduced noise and artificial lighting, and patient education. Music therapy as a non-pharmacological intervention has not been fully studied. CONCLUSIONS: Non-pharmacological treatment of sputum in the ICU remains an effective method because it eliminates the use of sedatives. However, this depends on the health of the patient, such as vision and hearing impairment. Exploring the effectiveness of music therapy for this condition will help to further improve the multi-component approach, which requires a combination of non-pharmacological interventions to promote patient health.
