Sustained pressure on those areas which support the body leads to reduced blood supply and eventually death of the skin and underlying muscles (a pressure sore). Aim: This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of designed educational programme for nurse's regarding using the Braden Scale to Predict Pressure Ulcer Risk. Subjects and method: A quasi- experimental research design was used. Convenience samplings were selected from available nurses worked in the selected setting as following and met selected criteria. It included 99 nurse in port said city at governmental hospitals from ICU and CCU, orthopedics, and medical units at pot said general hospital, Elzohour, Port-fouad hospitals. Data were collected through using one tool contains 3 main parts developed by the researchers based on literature review & modificated tool from Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (2006) and Ayello, 2004 as follows: Part I: includes Sociodemographic data of nurses; Part II: includes nurse's knowledge regarding Braden scale and Part III: contains Observational checklist in using Braden scale. Results: The study revealeda highly statistically significant difference were found between pre educational programme phase and post educational programme phase in relation to nurse's total scores of knowledge and practice of Braden scale as a predictive risk assessment of pressure ulcer. Conclusion & recommendations: The present study concluded that there are obvious needs for educational programme to increase nurse's awareness of Braden Scale as predictive risk assessment of pressure ulcer.

Abstract: The study was developed to identify and analyze nursing practices in the literature related to the prevention and control of postpartum hemorrhage. Integrative review of on-line articles indexed in the databases MedLine, PubMed, Lilacs, SciELO, Embase, CINAHL and Web of Science (in the period between September 2013 and February 2014); search strategies by keywords and mesh descriptors were used. The 22 studies selected were categorized as: 1. Implementation of the active handling of the third stage of the delivery; 2. Use of Misoprostol; 3. Blood loss estimate; 4. Nursing training on the handling of postpartum hemorrhage; 5. Other handling measures to prevent postpartum hemorrhage; and 6. Use of technology to record data on postpartum hemorrhage. The present integrative review revealed that nursing professionals (midwives, nurses, traditional birth attendants), together with other professionals, have contributed to implement the active handling of the third stage of the labor, and to elaborate and implement protocols, trainings and assessments of results of this practice in the services. Despite the global recommendations to adopt the active management of third stage of labor, whenever a qualified professional delivers such care, this practice is still not broadly developed and implemented, even in the reference hospitals in Brazil and many other countries.

Therefore, the purpose of the study was to assess nurse educators’ perception of problem-based learning in order to provide useful information for necessary intervention. The study was a descriptive survey. A convenience sampling technique was used and 40 nurse educators out of 58 in Calabar participated in the study. Furthermore, 6 out 10 nursing educational institutions in Cross River State were used. A self-developed and well validated questionnaire served as an instrument for data collection. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 15. Descriptive statistics was used for data analysis. The results revealed that most of the respondents 29(75.5%) were females. With regards to professional and educational qualifications, all the respondents were registered nurses and most of the respondents were B.N.Sc./BSc./B. Ed degree holders 16(40%), while Masters’ Degree holders were 15 (37.5%). The results revealed that majority of the respondents had a positive view and attitude towards problem-based learning and would like it to be introduced into nursing educational institutions. The study suggests that nurse educators will be positively disposed to the use of problem-based learning in teaching-learning process as it is being used in most professional courses in developed and developing countries. Therefore, it was suggested that all stakeholders in nursing educational institutions should organize workshops and seminars to orientate nurse educators on problem-based learning. The curriculum for training of student nurses should be reviewed to reflect problem-based learning.

Method: Cross sectional descriptive study was conducted among mothers attending in under five and immunization clinics of all government health facilities in Debre Markos Town by taking a total sample size of 345 from December 1 to 30, 2014. Probability sampling method was used for the selection of individual respondents. Data was entered using EPI data version 3.1 and analyzed by SPSS version 20. Binary and multiple logistic regressions were done to show the association of dependent and independent variables. Results: Out of 359 respondents identified for the study 96% (n=345) were responded for the interview. From the total respondents (55.4%) of them had poor practice about sunlight exposure. In multivariate analysis mothers’ educational status had significant association with practice of sunlight exposure of infants. Conclusion and Recommendations: The findings in this study showed mothers had poor practice about sunlight exposure. Therefore, mothers need to be educated about the importance of sunlight exposure.
