Abstract: EI involves the ability to relate to and influence others, and may be important for practice nurses. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 96 nurses who had just completed their internship period. The main work pressures experienced by practice nurses were analyzed. To investigate and analyze the main work pressures on clinical practice nurses, and improve their emotional literacy through targeted emotional intelligence (EI) education to support good professional quality and active responses to work stress. In total, 102 new practice nurses were randomly divided into control and experimental groups. Both groups received routine professional skill training. Nurses in the experimental group also received guided EI training. Working pressure and EI level were tested in both groups before and after the internship period. The main work pressures on practice nurses were excessive nursing workloads and poor allocation of work time. The experimental group had higher EI scores and lower pressure scores than the control group. EI education for practice nurses may be particularly important in relieving work pressures.

Abstract: The discussion is based on "enthusiastic reception, patient speaking, careful observation, sincere help, warm heart, loving visit" (hereinafter referred to as "six hearts") Objective: To explore the practical effect of "six hearts" nursing service process on improving nursing students' humanistic quality. Methods: Taking nursing undergraduates from a medical college in 2016 and 2017 as the research object, 82 nursing undergraduates in 2016 were set as the control group, clinical nursing teaching was carried out by traditional teaching methods, and 84 nursing undergraduates in 2017 were set as the observation group. The "six - heart" nursing service process education was added to the traditional teaching methods, and the humanistic quality scores of the two groups of nursing students were compared. Results: the scores of humanistic accomplishment in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (all p & lt; 0.01). Conclusion: The "six hearts" nursing service flow runs through clinical nursing students' teaching, which is conducive to improving nursing students' clinical communication ability and humanistic quality, laying a good foundation for reserving excellent nursing professionals and ensuring nursing quality while improving the teaching level of nurses.

Abstract: Cyber-loafing involves an unproductive use of time in the workplace and distracts employees from their responsibilities and duties. This study was conducted because there is a risk posed on patient's safety if nurses are cyberloafing and if this behavior has a direct relation with procrastination and lack of conscientiousness. Aim of the study: to determine the relationship between cyberloafing, procrastination and conscientiousness among staff nurses working in Damanhour National Medical Institute. Research Design: A cross-sectional descriptive correlational design with a self-reporting questionnaire was used to obtain data. Setting: The study was conducted in all inpatients units except Intensive Care Units (N=10) in Damanhour National Medical Institute. Subjects: A convenience sampling technique was used to recruit the participants of 157 (professional and technical nurses) were present and agreed to participate in the study. Instruments: The questionnaire consisted of three main scales and a demographic data sheet. The scales were namely; cyberloafing scale, procrastination scale, and conscientiousness scale. Results: There are significant correlations between cyberloafing variety and cyberloafing frequency, procrastination and conscientiousness where p= <0.001 for the three variables respectively. Regarding, cyberloafing frequency, a negative significant correlation was found with procrastination where p= <0.001 and a positive significant correlation with conscientiousness where p= 0.048. Another positive significant correlation was found between procrastination and conscientiousness in which p= <0.001. Recommendations: more extensive and in-depth research on procrastination and conscientiousness in a private sector, where there is more availability of personal computer and internet connections would be beneficial.

Abstract: The Clinical Decision-Making (CDM) is essential for the nursing professional practice. However, newly nursing bachelor graduates are not always ready to make clinical decisions. Therefore, the identification of self-confidence and anxiety as emotional barriers during this process will allow teaching/learning strategies to generate educational strategies of teaching-learning that support its development. The objective is to evaluate the levels of self-confidence and anxiety in newly nursing bachelor graduates and compare them to each CDM´s dimension. The method for this study was descriptive, comparative and cross-sectional. The“Nursing Anxiety and Self-Confidence with Clinical Decision Making Scale (NASC-CDM)” was applied. Results: It was found that 69% of the newly nursing bachelor graduates had a high level of self-confidence and 66% a low level of anxiety. Significant statistical differences were found in the levels of self-confidence of the newly nursing bachelor graduates in accordance with their employment situation; the averages in the anxiety level were higher, although there were no significant statistical differences. It can be concluded that the higher level of self-confidence possessed by the newly nursing bachelor graduates, the lower the level of anxiety, with the exception of those who have nursing working experience. It is necessary for nursing educators to emphasize the development of skills for knowing and acting, because students need to incorporate them cognitively and intuitively in the complete clinical scenario, in order to have one or more options of decision. The low self-confidence level and the high anxiety level are emotional barriers that intervene in CDM, because they block or interfere the assertive decision-making process. This explains why deliberative strategies have to be implemented in the curricular level.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to describe how young adults with type 1 diabetes experience other persons reception. Living with a long-term illness such as type 1 diabetes influences daily life for young adults and their close relatives to a great extent. In order to live and manage daily life with a long-term illness, support is important and crucial. The study has a qualitative design. A purposive sample of twelve young adults (eight women and four men) with type 1 diabetes were interviewed. The interviews were analysed using a qualitative thematic content analysis. Young adults with type 1 diabetes experience both support and being discredited when meeting others. They emphasise the support they receive from parents, co-habitants and young adults in a similar situation. This entails feelings of a natural understanding and not being alone. In contrast, young adults with type 1 diabetes also experience being misunderstood and the problematic situation that relates to a lack of knowledge from people around them and healthcare personnel. This entails feelings of not being confident when meeting others and healthcare personnel. This study highlights the need for support and understanding amongst young adults with type 1 diabetes and their families from first and foremost the healthcare services. Society and healthcare services need more knowledge about type 1 diabetes so young adults with type 1 diabetes can receive support and care matching their needs. This is important for strengthening their health and well-being.

Abstract: Background: The postpartum period is accompanied by many changes in women's health. Aim: This study aimed to assess the relationship between mode of birth and women quality of life during the postpartum period. Methods: The study was conducted in the outpatient clinic of Belbeis Hospital, Belbeis City, Al Sharkia Governorate. Study design: Descriptive design was used in this study. The data was collected through a structured interview questionnaire and a SF-36 form to assess the quality of life of women used a purposive sample method. The study carried out from May to June 2017. Participants: A total of 400 women attended the outpatient clinic. Results: The mean age of women was 27.5 ± 7.86 years and 26.3 ± 7.51 years for a caesarean and vaginal birth group, respectively. The mean total of SF-36 scores was higher among vaginal birth group compared to caesarean birth with statistically significant differences. Conclusion& Recommendation: According to the study results, the vaginal birth group had higher scores of SF-36 compared to caesarean delivery. Thus, vaginal birth is the safe choice for mothers and their family, if there were no indications of caesarean delivery.
