Abstract: The teaching-learning process depends heavily on teachers. As a result, they are expected to be knowledgeable in a wide range of competencies and to continue to develop their knowledge, abilities, and experiences, especially in terms of mastery of the subject matter, teaching, classroom management, and evaluation now that institutions have adopted a remote blended learning approach. The participants were eighteen teachers from Bukidnon State University, specifically the Elementary Laboratory School, and they were purposively chosen. A descriptive method of research using quantitative data was employed. The data the researcher wanted to collect needed to come directly from people, in this case, the teachers. The mean and standard deviation were used to explore the teachers’ instructional competencies, while frequency and percentage were used to determine the factors affecting the acquisition of teachers’ instructional competencies. Evaluation skills emerged as the topmost instructional competence practiced by teachers. From the instructional competencies of teachers, the following were the topmost indicators: teach the subject matter in a clear and simple manner; organize and present the subject matter clearly and coherently utilizing various learning materials such as PPT, learning kits, modules, worksheets, video clips, and others; share the link for the virtual class in advance and start the learning activities on time; and evaluate the performance of the learners on the basis of the learning objectives through quizzes and major examinations done in a self-paced manner.

Abstract: The study's objectives were to examine the usage of technology among Ghanaian senior high school mathematics instructors and to identify the factors that affect this use. The study used a descriptive survey (cross-sectional survey) approach and blended quantitative and qualitative data. All SHS mathematics teachers in the Sissala-East District of the Upper West area made up the study's population. Among rural, peri-urban, and urban schools in the district, 60 SHS mathematics teachers were chosen using a stratified sample technique. The results showed that the district's Senior High School level utilised less technology in the teaching of mathematics (2.048.85388). The study identified the usage of technology in mathematics instruction by SHS teachers. Manipulative, digital/computer-based, and audio-visual technologies were all combined into one category. The findings showed that the majority of teachers (3.120 ± 1.063) used manipulatives when teaching mathematics. The survey found that protractors were more frequently utilised with manipulatives than graph boards and cardboards, which were used the least by mathematics teachers in the district. However, the data also revealed that the district's mathematics teachers never employed digital/computer-based tools such virtual protractors, mobile phones, calculators, geometry pads, stepping stones 2.0 comprehensive mathematics, or computer game programmes like Globaloria, etc. Similarly, evidence from the study adds that audio-visual technologies including television, pie chart assignment to students based on TV program and other audio-visual devices were never in use by mathematics teachers in the district (1.416 ±.712). The study identified a number of variables that affect how technology is used by mathematics teachers. The results revealed that teachers’ use of technology in teaching mathematics was significantly influenced by gender (t = 22.684, p <.001), age (t = 15.444, p <.001), experience in teaching (t = 16.093, p <.001), and location of the school (t = 16.019, p <.001). Also, despite the fact that there are many factors that may have an impact on the usage of various technologies in mathematics education, respondents cited ease of understanding as their primary motivation for doing so. The study proposed that the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Government of Ghana (GoG), and NGOs help schools with infrastructure like computers and other visual and audio equipment as well as financial support. So, it is advised that mathematics teachers make an effort to employ these technologies in order to improve junior high school pupils' visual grasp of mathematics.

Abstract: The paper provides an overview of the importance of education and the background information on the implementation of the new four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program in Ghana. It highlights the previous challenges faced by teacher trainees in terms of limited practical experience and the efforts made to address this issue through the introduction of the Supported Teaching in Schools (STS) program as part of the B.Ed curriculum. This study employed a descriptive survey to find out the attitude of student teachers (mentees) and their mentors in partner schools towards the STS program in the North East region of Ghana. The samples of 283 and 66 were respectively selected from the students of Gambaga College of Education (CoE) and the mentors their partner schools using questionnaires and the data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings among others revealed that STS will enhance training knowledge of school curriculum and related materials, equip trainees with good classroom management skills as well as equip trainees the ability to build a teaching portfolio. However, lack of teaching and learning materials as well as inadequate orientation of the mentors were some challenges identified. In spite of these challenges, more than 63% of the respondents rate the STS as a good program.
