Abstract: Participatory variety selection plays a vital role in adopting improved crop varieties into a new growing area. Farmers' preferences across locations and growing seasons must be taken into account to introduce improved varieties that farmers will accept. Evaluating improved chickpea varieties in specific agro-ecologies is a key activity to enhance the productivity of the crop. The purpose of this study was to identify adapted, high-yielding, disease-resistant, and farmers' preferred white chickpea varieties in the south Gondar zone, Ethiopia. Five Kabuli-type chickpea varieties with one local check were laid out in a randomized complete block design with three replications replicated three times during the 2019/2020 cropping season at the farmers' field of Libokemkem and Simada districts. The environment by variety interaction analysis showed a highly significant difference at high significant (P< 0.01) difference for genotypes implying that there is a best-fit cultivar independently for each location. The study also revealed that in some cases the researchers' selection criteria were identical to farmers' preferences. These parameters include Disease reaction, Branch number, pod size, adaptability, and early maturity. Hence, including farmers' preferences in a variety selection process is paramount important. The results revealed that among the evaluated varieties, Akuri and Habru (2116.9 kg ha-1) and (2021.9ha-1) produced considerably higher yields at Libokemkem and Akuri and Habru (2037.5ha-1), (2025.9 kg ha-1) were found as high-yielding varieties at Simada. The combined grain yield of over location also (2077kg ha-1) and 2038.8ha-1) for Akuri and Habru Respectively. Accordingly, the highest grain yield in the Simada district was revealed by Akuri and Habru. While at Libokemkem; Akuri and Habru demonstrated top yield scores. Therefore, Akuri and Habru varieties were well adapted to the Simada and Libokemkem districts and similar agroecological zones of the western Amhara region.

Abstract: Some formal contextual factors influence on individual psychological security, has stated that employee perceived external risk and threat increase, thereby increasing the uncertainty, which will reduce psychological security in the workplace, the study aimed evaluating whether self-awareness, social awareness and relational agility leads to psychological security. The population is based 395 workforce of Jos Electricity Distribution Plc (JED) Jos business district in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis formulated in the study. The upshots stated Social-awareness does not have any significant impact on psychological security. The result shows that this hypothesis is rejected. The path coefficient from social-awareness and psychological security is statistically substantial with beta (β) value and robust t-value (β=0.167: t=4.036 p<0.020). Therefore, since P-value is<0.05 the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant relationship amid SOA and PS is disallowed and Hi, supported. The study concludes psychological security shows a key part in workforce’ performance of psychological security, as well as work engagement and recommends that there should be hint that even though psychological elasticity is usually considered an individual distinctive as it inclines to be stable over time, current interventions can also boost it among individual workforce.

Abstract: Contemporary agriculture faces many challenges, most notably the large and continuous increase in population numbers, which requires the greater provision of agricultural products to meet people's need for food. There are also other challenges such as global climate change, which has recently increased inefficiency due to droughts, desertification, irrigation water decreasing, increased soil contamination, plant diseases, heat waves, floods, and water salinity, causing many agricultural problems. The agricultural industry needs to invest in new techniques and infrastructure that enable it to transform into a smart industry capable of responding to these challenges through lean operations supported by industrial digital technologies (IDTs) to maintain efficiency, sustainability, and quality. The industry 4.0 strategy has been widely adopted by the manufacturing industry, enabling the manufacturing sector to achieve the enhanced optimization, efficiency, responsiveness, and autonomy premises of the digitalization strategy. This paper discusses the digitization of agriculture "from industry 4.0 towards agriculture 4.0," which relies on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, artificial neural networks (ANN), AI, and fuzzy logic to make a quantum leap, in the future of agriculture sector. Internet of Things devices collect data from the devices or sensors, analyse, process, and transfer it, in addition to making the right decisions, without human intervention. IOT also provides the basic communications infrastructure that is used to connect smart devices, sensors, and UAVs to mobile devices by using the Internet. These processes will lead to many services, such as collecting and analysing the information, pattern recognition, and independent decision-making based on artificial intelligence added to the current agricultural automation. These technologies will lead to a revolution in the field of agriculture, which is probably one of the most inefficient sectors today.

Abstract: The arrival of a new family member in an African context is a source of immense joy and a sign of social maturity. But for these pregnant women, the announcement that they are HIV-positive, i.e. the start of a chronic pathology, is a psychosocial shock that needs to be dealt with and supported. In most cases, these women allow their health to deteriorate rapidly, or even die if nothing is done to help them regain control of their daily lives. It is essential for pregnant women infected with HIV to bounce back, and once they have been triggered, they will have to rebuild their lives from the inside out, as well as from the outside. This transformation must take place in order to ensure the family's daily activities. The lack of real information on the logic of resilience in Cameroon in the field of prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) option B+, makes HIV a public health problem with a partially existing solution. The aim of this literature review is to take stock of empirical and scientific knowledge on resilience logics. Searches were carried out between 2019 and 2020 in the HINARI, PubMed, EMBASE, AIM, Google Scholar and WHO Digital Publications databases. The keywords, resilience, PMTCT option B+, and actor logics were used. 27 qualitative studies, 17 quantitative studies and 06 mixed studies, grouped into 06 books, 01 thesis and 43 journal articles, resulted in an average PMTCT retention rate of 61.61%. The personal, interpersonal, community and structural logics, grouped into risk factors and protective factors, found conflicting, interacting, common and conciliating logics with a profound interdependence in the field of PMTCT management option B+. The synergy between protective factors and reconciliatory approaches could enable countries with a high prevalence of transmission to eradicate PMTCT by 2030.

Abstract: The health commodity supply chain system is an important component of a well-functioning health system. As the world strives to reduce the global burden of disease, access to medicines needs to be improved, which requires efficient and effective supply chain management for medicines and medical supplies. Handeni TC had been facing a number of supply chain challenges, such as the accumulation of medicines and medical supplies past their expiry dates at health facilities, and the frequent ordering of overstocked and no demand health commodities. Since the introduction of the IMPACT approach, Handeni TC IMPACT team has applied a number of data-driven strategies to improve the supply chain, particularly with regard to commodity management and availability at supply points. The methods used by Handeni TC were to conduct bi-monthly data review meetings of the IMPACT team to review the performance improvement and action plan, and to conduct a thorough review of the reporting and application forms to identify areas of data quality problems and suggest corrective actions to improve data quality before approval at the regional level. The objective of this study was therefore to determine the influence of the implemented data-driven strategies agreed in the IMPACT team meetings on the management and availability of health commodities in Handeni TC. The study found that Handeni TC strategies resulted in a gradual increase in orders from 88% in March 2022 to 100% in February 2023, a declining trend in ordering of surplus health commodities from 16% in April 2022 to 1% in February 2023 and an increase in percentage availability of health commodities from 87% in February 2022 to 94% in February 2023. The implementation of the IMPACT approach has made a remarkable contribution to stock management and improved availability of health commodities during the study period. Data analysis and interpretation has helped to understand and rank the extent of data quality issues in facilities and this has been the basis for targeted supportive supervision in Handeni TC. Therefore, this approach should be extended to the facility level to increase transparency of data and ownership for informed decision making.
