Abstract: Textile composite mills generate waste during the production process and amongst this waste, fabric waste is most common. Hence recycling was carried out to convert the saleable fabric waste to useable value-added products and also to avoid environmental pollution. To reduce the noise level and to improve the sound absorbency, a three-layer sound absorbing material was produced in this research, by using PVA (polyvinyl acetate) treated base fabric, non-woven material in the middle with combination of cotton fabric waste and mattress foam and top fabric treated with fire retardant finish. Thirteen different nonwoven product combinations are prepared with different proportions of cotton fabric waste and mattress foam percentages by using Box Behnken experimental design. Properties such as thickness, areal density, air permeability and thermal conductivity and their relation with sound absorbent coefficient at different frequency ranges are measured using standard methods. The increase in thickness results in increase in sound absorption properties of non-woven product. The sample comprising of 79% mattress foam and 21% cotton fabric waste with 45mm thickness resulted in the optimum sound absorption coefficient in the mid-to-high frequency ranges. In order to improve the performance of non-woven product, the base fabric was treated with PVA and top fabric with fire retardant finish. The properties like tensile strength, water repellency, air permeability, extensibility, fabric stiffness was also tested for base fabric and it was found that 75% PVA treated base fabric gives good results and is more suitable for acoustic purposes.

Abstract: Coffee roasting machine innovation using a gas stove heating system. This machine still has a drawback, namely the previous roasting machine did not have optimal air circulation that was able to regulate the roasting tube room temperature, so users did not know the roasting tube room temperature. The design to be made has the advantage that it has an automatic shutdown control system. The capacity of this machine is also greater than the capacity of the previous engine, with a capacity of 3 kg. After the roasting process, the coffee can be removed from the roasting pan easily. For this reason, the planning of the roasting machine was administered through an ergonomic approach in one short case study with a pre- and post-test design group which was administered observationally on the roasting process manually and by employing a roasting machine. Ergonomic Roast Machine specifications are designed with a capacity of 5 Kg as follows: a). The roasting tube may be a chrome steel plate with a thickness of 1.2 mm with a length of 670 mm and a width of 310 mm, b). the facility of the electrical motor is 0.25HP with a rotation of 1400 rpm while the rotation of the drum roast is 50 rpm with a gearbox transmission, c). the size of the machine are 80 cm long, 75 cm wide and 90 cm high. Ergonomic test results show that the utilization of a roasting machine can increase the work productivity of roasted by 62.07%.

Abstract: Tempeh chips are one of the businesses in the field of small or household industries. Tempe sold by small industries is usually in the form of crackers. To process tempeh into chips, it is necessary to cut and slice it so that it can be made thin. There is a problem in slicing tempeh into thin pieces, especially in large quantities of tempeh. Manual cutting will make the work ineffective, take a long time, and the results of many pieces of tempeh are destroyed. Based on this problem, a tempeh cutting tool design research was conducted with an ergonomic approach to increase worker productivity. This research was conducted using a one-short case study method with a pre- and post-test design group that was carried out by observation of the tempeh cutting procedure. Workload as determined by the pulse of rice before and after work; complaints of fatigue and skeletal muscle pain before and after work; and work productivity as determined by a comparison between the work pulse (measured in beats per minute) and the weight of the products produced (in kilograms) while working (minutes). The results of the study concluded that: Testing the tempeh cutting's job efficiency using an ergonomic technique yielded the following results: a). Prior to utilizing the tempeh cutting machine, the average resting pulse rate of tempeh cutting artisans was 69.84 (2.31) bpm; however, their working pulse increased to 105.96 (1.46) bpm, increasing by 37.53 (2.98) bpm, or 54.48%. The average resting pulse rate of tempeh cutting craftsmen after using tempeh cutting machine is 68.43 (±1.71) bpm and the average working pulse is 97.08 (±2.00) bpm and an increase in work pulse is 27.24 (±1.64) bpm or 39.00 %; b). The average difference between musculoskeletal disorders before work and after work before using tempeh cutting machine is 28.90 (±3.31) and the average difference between skeletal muscle disorders before work and after work after using tempeh cutting machine is 16.70 (±4.30). The decrease in the mean of skeletal muscle disorders before using the tempeh cutting machine and after using the roasting machine was significant (p < 0.05) or 42.21%; and c). The result of calculating the work productivity of craftsmen before using the tempeh cutting machine is 94.21±3.09 and an increase after using the tempeh cutting machine is 152.69±3.37 or an increase of 62.07%.

Abstract: Introduction: Male infertility is typically determined through routine sperm analysis, but recent publications have called into question its diagnostic and prognostic accuracy, as well as the effectiveness of IUI itself. The aim of the study was to evaluate the pregnancy rate following IUI in unexplained infertility and male infertility (a mild form of oligo astheno teratozoospermia). Methods: This interventional study was carried out in the outpatient department (OPD) of the infertility Unit of Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, from July 2014 to June 2015. A total of 148 couples were enrolled, out of which 74 couples where only a male partner had oligospermia or asthenozoospermia or teratozoospermia were considered group I (case) and 74 couples had unexplained infertility was considered group II (control). All-female patients took Tab clomiphene citrate 100mg from D2-D5 and inj Menogon (75IU) I/M was received on D3 and D8. TVS for folliculometry was done from D9 onwards every alternate day. Statistical analysis of the results was obtained by using windows computer software with Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS-version 22). Result: Follicle was developed (≥17 mm) in 71 (96.0%) in group I and 68 (91.9%) in group II up to D13. Pre-wash motility <50 percent was found in all cases in group II and group II respectively. Post motility ≥50 percent was found in 10 (15.6%) in group I. The difference was statistically significant (p<0.05) between the two groups. Biochemical pregnancy occurs 3 (4.7%) in group I and 5 (8.5%) in group II. Clinical pregnancy 2 (3.1%) and 3 (5.1%) in group I and group II respectively. Biochemical and Clinical pregnancy differences were not statistically significant (p>0.05) between the two groups. Conclusion: Stimulated IUI should be the first choice treatment for mild male factor infertility, and unexplained infertility, which is a less costly and easy procedure. it can be done before going through more invasive and costly treatments like IVF or ICSI.
