Abstract: Throughout history, landscape architecture developed from garden art, and many different factors contributed to the development of this tendency. Even though landscape architecture is typically involved in the planning and design of land and water, it also contributes to the development of a safe, resilient, and sustainable view, which in turn encourages healthy living and responsible stewardship of the environment. At this time, the excessive use of land for settlement in the wake of urbanisation has resulted in the fragmentation of habitats, the loss of agricultural land, a lack of ancient ties, and the destruction of cultural landscapes. It would be to everyone's benefit to go back in time and explore the innovative approaches that landscape architects of the past were able to take in order to find answers to the pressing problems that are prevalent at the time. As a consequence of this, the research looks into well-known landscape architects from across history and the ways in which their designs have had an enduring effect. The findings of this study, which combine theoretical and analytical approaches, suggest that the restoration of landscapes may be viewed both as a means and a goal in addressing contemporary environmental concerns.

Abstract: Buildings are constructed with the aim of lasting for a certain duration of time while achieving other ancillary benefits, such as functionality, aesthetics, affordability, comfort, and pleasure for the occupants. Over the years, correctional facilities and other buildings have become derelict within some period of construction due to a lack of adequate maintenance, which resulted in dilapidation and probably collapse. This paper evaluated the building condition and maintenance of correctional facilities. The objective is to reduce incessant building collapse in Nigeria. A survey approach was adopted in the collection of data from the relevant Niger State prison staff population of 120 workers, including staff in the maintenance unit, within a specific period. A stratified sampling technique was used to generate a sample that was used to collect data representing the entire population across the prisons. The results from the study identified poor maintenance of correctional facilities which could cause building deterioration and which could eventually pave way for the building to collapse. The study suggests continuous evaluation of maintained correctional facilities to ascertain their condition and performance levels.

Abstract: Intelligence has become an important driving force for human beings to increase productivity and improve the quality of life since 21st century. In the field of education, using intelligence to upgrade classrooms has become a future development trend. There are many colleges and universities in China and they mainly rely on intelligent equipment to realize the upgrading of classrooms. However, the matching teaching mode and the overall environment of the teaching space are still neglected, resulting in the failure of fully use of intelligent equipment. This paper studies the design practice of the interior renovation of smart classrooms in Tongji University in Shanghai, using the methods of literature research, field surveys, questionnaires and post-use evaluation. The design strategies of the teaching space are summarized from space layout, interface materials, color design, light and lamp selection, historical style, and combination with intelligent facilities. At the same time, the design team also conducted a survey on the post-use feedback of students in Tongji University. Through the post-use evaluation and analysis of the collected data, it was concluded that the research population are satisfied with the following four aspects: space design (the use of materials and colors, space style and scale, retention and using historical style elements), classroom teaching (efficient and comfortable learning atmosphere), physical environment (comfortable light and acoustic environment), intelligent equipment (advanced facilities, easy to find, and conducive to teaching activities). This research can provide reference for future combination with intelligence and teaching space environment design.
