Abstract: The traditional ancestral hall column bases in the Laibin area of Guangxi are rich in types and diverse in form. By tracing the historical geography of six counties in the Laibin area and analyzing the information on the types, spatial locations, decorations and regional characteristics of local ancestral hall column bases, the geographical and temporal characteristics of the column bases in the Laibin area were summarized, and the types of traditional ancestral hall column bases in the area were scientifically mapped. It was found that the information carried by the column bases reflected the similarities and differences in the cultural preferences of different ethnic groups in the context of the times, as well as the historical migration changes of the vernacular settlements; at the same time, the geographical distribution characteristics of the column bases showed traces of changes in the ruling power of the local Tuji, reflecting the history of the migration process and reclamation of the area by the Han Guangfu and Hakka folk. In general, the form of local column bases integrates elements of Hakka, Guangfu, Xiang-Gan and Tuji, showing the intermingling of Han architectural culture and minority architectural culture since the Qing Dynasty, and finally, the types, spatial positions and ornaments of column bases have formed their own regional patterns and characteristics. This will further expand the research on the local traditional architectural forms in Guangxi.

Abstract: The process of building design, spatial layout and arrangement provides information about the organization ability of an Architect or Planner. Circulation has been defined as the relative easiness and modes of flow through and within a building mostly in the network of spaces or routes. Studies on environmental cognition theories identify a general problem in the structuring of communication and transaction between individuals brought about by co-presence in space. This situation is largely determined by local visual fields in common spaces and perception of users which aligns movement routes through that visual field. In the case of hospital buildings, developing workable layouts in design and activity configuration remains a challenging task for Architects and Planners of hospitals. This study therefore aims at developing an appraisal technique which could be applied as a tool for assessing the wayfinding performance and circulation efficiency of hospitals. Utilizing excerpts from Space syntax analysis, this paper establishes the variables associated with wayfinding as they apply to hospitals using selected hospitals in Nigeria, it also utilized the congestion criteria together with associated space syntax theories to evaluate the circulation efficiency (CE) of these selected hospitals. These space syntax parameters were employed in order to establish the permeability of the spaces through the geometry of the buildings. The real integration (RI) values were calculated for the selected hospital buildings using asymmetry equations and the values generated from the analysis. The visibility factor was also generated using the space syntax Isovist of sights analogy. The study revealed the major archetypes for the circulation design of these hospitals as Linear, Multilateral and the Looped circulation patterns. The Circulation efficiency (CE) values obtained for each of these archetypes underscores the significance of their application in ease of wayfinding, movement and circulation of patients/staff in hospital buildings.

Abstract: Palaces within the Yorùbá culture are important places that is perceived as the position of power after the Orisas. The Yorùbá town radiates around the Oba’s palace whose architectural style spans years of experiences and cultural elements of identity. Mainly constructed using laterite and other traditionally sourced materials, they have withstood the test of time and worthy of preservation. Remarkably, interaction with outsiders brought about changes in taste and value that tends to influence the built environment of the Yorùbá people. As a result, traditional institutional structures like Yorùbá palaces are gradually changing to vernacular, eclectic or losing their traditional elements. Sadly, the loss of these distinctive architectural elements that differentiates and identify Yorùbá palace architecture could simply translate to loss of history and heritage. To this end, this paper seeks to document the Àfin Irefin in Ibadan. Highlighting the importance of the palace an important traditional institutional building and emphasising the need for documentation, restoration and preservation is the focus of the paper. Utilising a historical and archival research methods, the paper seeks to document the Àfin Irefin of Olubadan and highlight its important architectural elements. Through presentation of findings, the paper emphasises the importance of the structure as a part of Yorùbá heritage that is endangered due to deterioration, change in value and lack of preservation policy.

Abstract: Aunder the background of economic construction as the center of the times, the rapid development of cities and rural areas obviously lag, showing a dual structure of urban and rural areas, serious loss of rural population, some traditional villages and even showing the trend of extinction. It is imperative to protect traditional villages. Therefore, China has been included in the list of 6 batches of national traditional villages. Fangdong Town, Luxian County, Sichuan Province, has a long history and culture. It is known as the "hometown of fish and rice in southern Sichuan". Including several towns adjacent to it, it has retained a large number of local watchtower-style manor buildings from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. Shipaifang Village and Songtian Village under the jurisdiction of Fangdong Town are fortunate to be selected as state-level traditional villages. From the perspective of community building, this paper combines the background of Shipai Village and Songtian Village, and explores the development direction of the two villages with 'people', 'culture', 'land', 'industry' and 'scenery' as entry points, aiming to open a new window of thinking for the protection of traditional villages and rural revitalization.

Abstract: The outbreak of the novel coronavirus began at the end of 2019 and is still spreading around the world, with sporadic or localized outbreaks at home and abroad, and even mutation and escalation. Although the epidemic prevention and control has not slackened at all, the new corona-virus continues to mutate, spread rapidly and widely. However, since the outbreak of the epidemic, the detection and research of the virus by nucleic acid detection laboratories have been seriously inadequate. This paper introduces the general situation of emergency space products from the angle of human health, and introduces the background of the birth of new emergency anti-epidemic space products, the design scheme of the new type of emergency anti-epidemic space products is put forward, which are “Fire Eye” laboratory (air film version), “Fire Eye” air film negative pressure isolation ward and “Fire Eye” vehicle-mounted laboratory The function layout design of the emergency epidemic prevention space in the perspective of the combination of epidemic prevention and control can realize the full set of technical systems, such as rapid construction, positive and negative pressure conversion, intelligent integration, etc., as of April 2022, more than 370 fire laboratories have been set up in 37 countries and regions (283 domestic and 95 International), which have been welcomed and supported by the general public, and has had a very positive social impact.
