Abstract: The main problem facing the preservation of Egyptian antiquities, is the difficulty of moving an archaeological team of international experts and participants from foreign countries with the Egyptian teams together to inspect a specific antiquity in the western bank in Luxor, for example, causes the lack of periodic follow-up of antiquities and the lack of restoration quality assurance, which ultimately leads to bad results and sometimes having to remove the wrong repairs and do the restoration again. Also, Lack of funding is a serious problem facing the preservation of Egyptian antiquities, which leads to the poor architectural condition of these monuments. The Researcher suggests using the Metaverse concept in reviewing the proposals for restoration projects in the Metaverse environment, before actually carrying out the restoration process. And reviewing the restoration projects that have already been completed to ensure that it is compatible with the proposals specified in the plan before. This is done by the use of Metaverse Virtual Environment & Fully Immersive Virtual Reality technique in a mechanism that tracks the regular monument deterioration, allowing for conservation in sufficient time. Furthermore, this technique is useful for assessing the quality of the conservation process. That would be achieved by building a fully immersive 3D virtual model before and after the preservation process by comparing the changes that made to the monument. That method facilitates a good monitoring for the monument over time as well, and documenting that monument in detail. The practical part of this study describes 2 case studies that were actually carried out under the supervision of the researcher. In this study, two copies of virtual models were created for “PANEHSY” tomb (Mataria, Cairo). The first copy is based on images taken for the tomb on the day of its discovery. The second was built based on the images of the tomb after the conservation and restoration project. By applying the suggested method, the changes that occur to the tomb’s drawings and ornaments were clearly observed (some defects in the colors of the drawings, and some differences in the thickness of the welds between the stones). The second case study is from the ottoman period; “ABEDY BEK RWEESH” Mosque (Nile Cornish, Masr ElKadema, Cairo), we use the same technique to compare the two copies and determine how restoration process succeed after restoration project (3 Column crowns were replaced, and minarets stairs were fell down).

Abstract: Computer Aided Drafting or (CAD) is a computer application known among the construction engineering field as a drafting tool, that offers computer aided drafting only, and does not combine the produced drawings with construction engineering information like engineering specifications, bill of quantities, material specifications, project scheduling, and other related data. On the other hand, the main purpose of the emergence of Computer Aided Drafting or (CAD) technology is to minimize effort and time consumed in the preparation of construction drawings. Such process is the most tedious and the core task of the design firms. Research work in this paper focus on introducing a base system concept that may lead to a computer program/script or a “Plug-in” that may give a (CAD) based software application commonly known as (AutoCAD Architecture Desktop) an (AI) capacity. The paper started with a short explanation of the major elements of the architectural design process from a cognitive approach, followed by a briefing about (CAD) technology as a drafting tool, then goes directly towards explaining the “CAD - Plug-in” suggested base system, and criteria with a simulation of the suggested concept over an architectural design example; a “Hospital 4 Surgery Rooms Zone”, as a case study. At the end, the paper concludes a Programing Scheme the (CAD - Plugin Syntax Code) written in “Prolog” computer programing language.

Abstract: Virtual 3D models are seen to be of great use in 3D Documentation of historical buildings as well as in teaching Islamic architecture history courses in Architecture Schools. Heritage Buildings which urgently need architectural documentation may be generally classified into two categories, Non-reachable and Ruined buildings. This paper presents a scientific and practical methodology to create fully immersive interactive 3D Virtual Reality models in Metaverse of either cases based on new fully immersive virtual reality technologies supported by Photo-modelling techniques. The research aims to apply the proposed method to generate virtual 3D models of two case studies; the first, the Non-reachable Al-Aqsa Mosque, in Jerusalem, Palestine, and the second is the Ruined Badr El-Din Mosque in Al-Sayeda Aisha area, in Cairo, Egypt. In Documenting Non-reachable Heritage Buildings, The research produces a complete virtual copy of “Al Aqsa Al Sharif Mosque Compound”, with all its Islamic and Christian monuments and gates. In Documenting Ruined Heritage Buildings, The research produces a complete virtual copy of “Badr Edeen Elwanaey Mosque”, created in details depending on researcher proposed designs, then the walls, ceilings and floors of this model were covered with texture driven from the Architectural Designs made by the researcher, which depends on elements of the comparative analysis study for the Four Mosques in the same era as the ruler and by the same architect.

Abstract: Urban renewal plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable spatial development and structural growth for cities in respect of urban planning and landscape architecture. It is defined as a complex process involving demographic, physical and socio-economic dimensions. The time-tested process of urban renewal in Germany has provided both theoretical and practical experience for the rest of the world. In this context, a systematic and diachronic method is adopted to elaborate on three planning paradigms of German urban renewal. Reflective of the prosperity and reconstruction, structural changes and shrinking process of cities, the critical evolution of urban renewal planning paradigms is subjected to the profound influence from spatial, historic, social, and political factors in different periods. Therefore, according to the needs for urban development, this study focuses on analyzing three essential paradigms of total-demolition reconstruction, careful urban renewal and critical reconstruction, and urban regeneration. On this basis, the evolution of urban renewal is reflected on from such perspectives as institutional guarantee of the federal-state-local framework, the financial support through multiple funding projects, and the critical urban landscape conceptions. In conclusion, there are three aspects of planning paradigms. The first one is critical thinking as a key factor in the scientific analysis of urban spaces and structures. The second one is a full understanding of urban renewal based on the establishment of a complex system. The last one is the positive changes to the evolution of cities and the formation of resilient urban landscapes in the future.

Abstract: As ancient as the oldest of civilizations, the art of tattooing has continued to persist through the ages. A reminiscence of man’s life here on earth, tattooing has been practiced in diverse cultures for varied reasons such as for commemorating the memory of a loved one, as rites for hinder less passage into after-life, as a symbol of spiritual attachment or religion or one’s position in society, for identification and punishment, as well as a sexual lure. In India, tattooing is referred to with many different names but the word most commonly used is ‘Goudana’. The practise of Goudana finds its genesis in Hindu religious mythology and is associated with stories of Gond God, one of the invitees to a dinner arranged by Lord Shiva. While fetching his wife, Gond God accidently put his arm around Parvati Ji, wife of Lord Shiva. The devi (goddess) did not like it and thereafter demanded that the tribal ladies wear a particular kind of mark on their skin to distinguish them from the other castes; with this started the culture of Goudana. There are also other similar stories with Yamraj in Oraon tribe amongst the Mundas, Baigas, Malhars, Singhas, Santhals, the Ho tribe and numerous many. The difference between Tattoo and Goudana is the usual story of after effects of modernization, where one art gets mechanised, evolves, becomes popular and thrives whereas the other, though safe and more therapeutic, witnesses a gradual decline and almost perishes, mainly because of the failure to commercialize it and also due to inadequate support from the government as extended to other arts for their revival. This study is based on my interactions with local Goudana artists during one of my professional excursions to Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. I interviewed the artisans who still practice Goudana and learnt about their induction into the practise, their skills, their techniques, their hardships and the reasons for the decline of Goudana as an art form. The information thus gathered has shaped this research. The script also contains an analysis of primary research data collected from 110 respondents to study the significance and effect of education and the role of gender in creating a preference for and shaping the perceptions around tattooing/Goudana.

Abstract: Generally, all architecture can be attractive with pleasant outlook, it is exciting when inspired grandeur, and logically defined when form and details are organized. Some architecture politely invites sense of place as well intellectually reflecting its historical origin. However, revivalism in contemporary architecture evolved as reaction against the ill actions of modernism. Revivalism has a special value and cultural significances in the fields of architectural aesthetic. Subsequently, it is acknowledged in the architectural theory that revivalist style recounts about the previous culture and in its unique architectural style among the multiple design models expresses social, natural and cultural phenomena. The style has the power to regenerate the folks-belief, local physical value, cultural significances, as well as regional and national identity. This research aims to discuss traditional architectural revivalism as an approach to regional progressive architectural design concept. The study based its scope within Hausa communities of Northern Nigeria, and will describe several of revivalist architectural models as progressive design approach. The paper will further explore the significances of architectural revivalism within the realm of Hausa traditional architecture. As such, the research suggested that the revivalist design approach creates a suitable base for regional architectural symbol as well as cultural identity and design continuity. The design models create no constraint to the architectural settings of the northern region in Nigeria.
