The traditional ancestral hall column bases in the Laibin area of Guangxi are rich in types and diverse in form. By tracing the historical geography of six counties in the Laibin area and analyzing the information on the types, spatial locations, decorations and regional characteristics of local ancestral hall column bases, the geographical and temporal characteristics of the column bases in the Laibin area were summarized, and the types of traditional ancestral hall column bases in the area were scientifically mapped. It was found that the information carried by the column bases reflected the similarities and differences in the cultural preferences of different ethnic groups in the context of the times, as well as the historical migration changes of the vernacular settlements; at the same time, the geographical distribution characteristics of the column bases showed traces of changes in the ruling power of the local Tuji, reflecting the history of the migration process and reclamation of the area by the Han Guangfu and Hakka folk. In general, the form of local column bases integrates elements of Hakka, Guangfu, Xiang-Gan and Tuji, showing the intermingling of Han architectural culture and minority architectural culture since the Qing Dynasty, and finally, the types, spatial positions and ornaments of column bases have formed their own regional patterns and characteristics. This will further expand the research on the local traditional architectural forms in Guangxi.
