Abstract: Macrophages are mononuclear phagocytes generated from monocyte emigrated from blood circulation. Macrophages mediated the innate and adaptive immunity through different routes, and cytokine production is one of these routes. Signal transducer and activators of transcription (STATs) are cytoplasmic transcription factors that are key mediators of cytokine and growth factor signalling pathways. STAT-3 is implicated in macrophage cytokine signalling and production. It's well reported that the microbiota is very important as it primes the immune system for the antigens encountered later in life. Probiotics defined as ‘Live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit on the host. Therefore, the aim of this project was to answer the question whether probiotics induced cytokine production via activation of STAT-3 signalling pathway. Results showed that probiotic Lactobacillus casie strain Shirota was successfully induced cytokine production via activation of STAT-3 by anti-inflammatory macrophages induced by TNF-α. The findings of this study will open new strategy to modulate the immune response by probiotic bacterialeading to treat the diseasesthat related with irregular cytokine production.

Abstract: The present work include preparation of phosphors materials from rare earth (Eu) ion doping Silicon Oxide (SiO2), and study the characteristics of phosphors for ultraviolet to visible conversion. The phosphor materials have been synthesized by two steps, the first was preparing the powder by solid state method usingSiO2, and Eu2O3 with doping concentration of 5% and different calcination temperature (1000, 1200 and 1400 oC), the second step is the preparing of the colloid by dispersing the produced powder in a polyvinyl alcohol solution (4%). Powder preparation achieved by mixing the powder according to weight percentage, milling then calcinning the mixture at the above temperatures. The produced powder was characterized by X-Ray diffraction .The X-Ray resultsshow a mismatch with the standard peaks. The difference may be due to the variation in purity of the materials and the phases before calcination. Colloid preparation achieved by dissolving the PVA in water (4%) then dispersing the powder into the solution by using the hot plate magnetic stirrer and ultrasonic bath. The produced powder was characterized by using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Photoluminescence spectra (PL). The results of photoluminescence spectra show that samples doped with Europium ions emit red color with wave length 612nm.The intensity of emission was increased with increasing calcination temperature.

Abstract: We designed and fabricated high efficiency solid state dye sensitized solar cells based on vertical ZnO nanowire arrays by utilizing a mixture paste of LiI, PMII and solid iodine as electrolyte. Poly thiophene -single wall carbon nanotube (PT-SWNT) composites were synthesized on FTO glass by in situ polymerization and employed as counter electrode to replace the conventionally used expensive Pt electrode. The initial results showed the power conversion efficiency of 2.87 % from the device with PPy-SWNT composite coated on FTO glass as counter electrode.

Abstract: Oral pathogenic gram-positive bacteria, Streptococcus pyogenes (Strept.pyogenes) are caused severe human diseases with complications, including rheumatic fever, sepsis, severe soft-tissue invasion, and toxic-shock-like syndrome (TSLS). Whereas, Streptococcus mutants(Strept. mutans),described a key causative agent of caries and infective endocarditis. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the inhibitory effect of Curcumin on Strept. mutans and Strept.pyogenes growth in comparison with the antibiotic Ciprofloxacin using well diffusion method. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MICs) showed that curcumin-mediated growth inhibition of Strept. mutans and, Strept. pyogenes. Results showed that curcumin significantly inhibitedthe activity of Strept. mutans and Strept. pyogenes growth with inhibition zones, 9.7mm and 10.2 mm, respectively while the inhibition zone of Ciprofloxacin 15.52mm to 13.4mm against Strept. mutans, Strept. pyogenes respectively. The antimicrobial activity of curcumin on Strept. mutans and Strept. pyogenes growth suggests that the curcumin may be useful for controlling dental biofilms, subsequently dental caries formation. This study provides significant insights into the therapeutic effect of curcumin against pathogenic gram positive bacteria, suggesting its potential as an alternative therapy, and opens the way for further studies on identification of novel antimicrobial targets of curcumin.

Abstract: Security has more and more importance in current era especially in the organizations where information is more critical and more effective, so there are many methods that will be used in keeping information secure and safety like steganography, cryptography, barcode, password, and biometrics. different techniques will be used to protect image data from unauthorized access, In this paper a hybrid method will be proposed for ciphering secure image by translating information from original RGB image to YCbCr format then using public key algorithm after normalized pixels values to insure that will be within public and prevent keys region after that the Modified Arnold Transform, Generalized Fibonacci Transform, and Fibonacci-Lucas Transform will be applied on each ciphered band from YCbCr image respectively.
