Abstract: Library resources and services are essential in postgraduate studies to conduct successful research, demonstrate academic scholarship and gain recognition for creative thinking. Hence, this study evaluated the influence of library resources and services on research activities among postgraduate students’ in southwest Federal Universities, Nigeria. A study research design was adopted for the survey. However, a multi-stage sampling procedure was applied to select 378 respondents for the study. Data were assembled with the use of a designed questionnaire on library resources and services influencing postgraduate research activities. Standard deviation, mean, frequency counts and percentages were used to analyse the data. Results reveal that textbooks 2.96), World Wide Web 2.80) and e-books 2.76), 3.12), books 3.61) and e-books 3.35) were the major resources that enhanced postgraduate students research activities by the respondents. Also, reference 2.85) and Wi-Fi services 2.75) Wi-Fi services 3.17), referral services 3.16) and user education 3.10), were library services that promote postgraduate students research activities. Findings further revealed that books 2.72), e-journals 2.68), print journals 2.65) internet 2.61), reference services 2.65) and reprographic services 2.37) were the most influencing library services among postgraduate students. The study concluded that the library provides resources and services that influence the research activities of postgraduate students. However, the use of library resources and services is crucial in postgraduate studies to achieve their academic objectives. The study, therefore recommended that provision and preservation of library resources should be given more attention in the universities, while library services should be improved upon for better service delivery. In addition, the library should make enough internet access points available for students.

Abstract: Collection development is often employed to serve as an umbrella term covering activities like selection, acquisition and deselection. The article contains a literature review of papers discussing the collection development curriculum in library and information science programs, expected skills required of collection development offices, and library training programs for new librarians. The study also discusses collection development as a panacea for promoting efficient use of library resources in academic libraries. Many factors have to be taken into consideration while developing the quality suite for the benefit of the users. These factors include societal analysis, policy, and acquisition of options, stock evaluation, and disposal of unrelated resources. It is important to evaluate to see how well the materials meet current needs and how likely they are to continue to meet the needs of current and future users. Authors conclude that librarians need to exercise the utmost care in developing a balanced collection that enhances the quality of academic libraries effective use of resources by the client.

Abstract: SHM systems have been widely implemented in long-span bridges, and seas of field measurement data have been accumulated. Due to the imperfect sensors, data transmission and acquisition, various anomalies inevitably exist in the SHM data, which may lead to unreliable structural condition assessment. Thus, an effective approach for detecting data anomalies is highly desirable. Due to the imbalanced data, some anomalous patterns are undertrained in popular end-to-end deep neural network models, resulting in a reduction in detection precision. In this paper, a hierarchical classification model with deep neural network tree is proposed for imbalanced data. The DNN tree contains three levels: (1) CNN to divide seven types of data into four categories (134, 2, 5, 67), denoted as C4; (2) two DNNs to classify to two classes separately (1, 34, 6, 7), denoted as D2D2; (3) DNNs to classify to two classes (3, 4). So, the DNN tree is presented as C4_D2D2_D2. The DNN tree is an open framework and can be defined based on the data characteristics. In the data processing, three data sets are built for training, namely single-channel data set, dual-channel data set and statistical data set. To validate our work, we considered the effects of balanced and imbalanced training sets and training ratios. The results show that our model can detect the multi-pattern anomalies of SHM data efficiently with 95.5% high accuracy. Besides, the proportion of abnormal data classified to normal data has been reduced, especially 3-minor. This model successfully solves the problem in a simple and easy to understand way, which has certain reference significance for the bridge structure anomaly judgment in the future.

Abstract: Academic libraries are leaning toward Koha and other affordable automation technologies in order to meet international standards and stay competitive in the modern knowledge society. Over 15,000+ libraries worldwide utilize the first open-source library management system, Koha. While managing library resources with automation is important, enhancing user involvement, engagement, and cooperation in libraries is one of the biggest issues facing information professionals. This study makes an effort to pinpoint elements or methods that influence Koha's SMART usage through a successful strategy that can also improve the environment of a library. Koha not only helps in developing ICT Skills in library professionals but also helps to develop collaboration between library staff and library users. Such collaborative educational technology platform encourages knowledge sharing and its facilitation in cost-effective way. The paper also discusses how to customize Koha, add Koha plugins, and use Koha to access social media, all of which will help any library to become TECHNO SMARTER. The SMART usage of Koha ILS (Integrated Library System) is important because it helps libraries to effectively manage their resources and provide better services to their patrons. Koha provides a centralized database to manage the library's collections, including books, periodicals, and other resources. This helps the library to keep track of its holdings and ensures that resources are properly cataloged, classified, and shelved. It provides a user-friendly interface that makes it easy for patrons to search for and access library resources. The system also integrates with other systems, such as online catalogs and digital collections, to provide a seamless experience for users. Koha automates many of the routine tasks associated with library management, such as circulation, check-ins and check-outs, and fines. This helps to reduce manual errors and increase efficiency. Koha provides a wealth of data that can be used to inform decision-making and evaluate the effectiveness of library programs and services. The system generates reports and data analytics that can be used to identify trends, track usage, and measure the impact of library initiatives. Koha is an open-source solution, which means that libraries can save money on licensing fees compared to proprietary systems. The system can also be customized to meet the specific needs of each library, further reducing costs. The SMART usage of Koha ILS provides a range of benefits to libraries, including improved resource management, enhanced user experience, increased efficiency, better data analytics, and cost savings.

Abstract: The development of computer technology that is in line with the human will to facilitate daily work, this gave rise to the idea of being able to develop inventions to be used both individually and in groups as part of an agency/institutional organization. In recent years, automatic identification (Auto-ID) procedures have become very popular especially in campus and industrial environments; contactless identification has developed into an independent interdisciplinary field, which is no longer suitable for the use of any (conventional) single-discipline focus. The RFID technology in this case is a discipline of several elements from very diverse disciplines: databases, RF and EMC technology, semiconductor technology, data protection and cryptography, telecommunications, manufacturing technology, and many related fields. The linkage of this research with developed technology (RFID) are several stages of analyzing the readiness of Lancang Kuning University in adopting the latest technological developments, based on a priority scale; analysis of input from the survey followed by making analysis of project development in the form of modeling and equipment requirements to build RFID technology according to priority scale. The method used follows the rules and stages of structured research in the form of experimental research methods, review of urgency background, survey techniques, analysis and prototype design produced in the form of recommendations. It is hoped that this report can be used as a reference in the development and stages that can be useful for further development and research.
