Abstract: The management of working capital plays an important role for the success of the business operations of the airline. The study is based on data from the financial statements of the airlines in the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) for the period of 2010-2015. The study results showed an opposite impact of day inventory outstanding and days of sales outstanding to profit before tax on assets; positive of current ratio to the profit before tax on assets and positive of financial leverage to profit before tax on equity. These results suggest that airlines need to rationalize supplies of aircraft spare parts inventory, increased the ability to recover cash from selling air transport products and strengthen collaborative relationships with suppliers in order to improve efficiency of working capital management, contribute to improve business efficiency.

Abstract: The surgery department is required to improve its performance by efficient usage of its available resources. Surgery department interdependencies with other hospital functions and departments are numerous and complex, which causes some restrictions on surgery ward performance and consequently hospital performance. Operating room (OR) schedule determines day to day operations that take a place at the surgery department. Creating such a schedule is a complex task, due to a multitude of constraints, preferences and objectives that planners need to take into account. Meanwhile, the schedule has major effects on the performance of surgery department and the hospital. This paper provides a review of recent operational research on operating room planning and scheduling with focus on multi-objective simulation optimization with use meta-heuristic method: in operating room, as a practical suggestion for hospitals. Recent researches were collected based on some keywords including simulation optimization, and operating room by google scholar, Scopus, and Pubmed. The findings showed that, there are not much practical suggestion in this case and still there is a gap and needs to be discovered.

Abstract: The aim of this study is to determine the contribution of Total Factor Productivity (TFP) in the air transport of Vietnam over the case of Vietnam Airlines. Based on analyzing data of Vietnam Airlines from 2005 to 2015, this study showed that fixed assets, labor and TFP are factors that affecting the output elements of Vietnam Airlines as Available of Ton- Kilometers Conversion (ATKC), Performance of Ton-Kilometers Conversion (PTKC), revenue and value added. Among these factors, the contribution of fixed assets is higher than labor, especially in generating revenue and value added. In the period from 2006 to 2010, the growth of Vietnam Airlines was due to the increase in fixed assets, labor and TFP, but in the period from 2011 to 2015, this growth was mainly due to the increase of fixed assets. The results of this study suggest Vietnam Airlines and others airline in Vietnam can increase efficiency growth by investing capital in order to increase fixed assets, increase labor, innovate technology, improve management and improve labor skills.

Abstract: Bulk Moulding Compound (BMC) is a short fiber composite with random orientation, used in many industrial sectors such as automotive, electrical,... Design and optimization of composite structures made of BMC meet difficulties due to the nature of this material and thus have not been integrated in the finite element software. This paper introduces a method to build and integrate a new computational model into finite element software (ABAQUS). The chosen model is a multi-scale homogenization model, which helps to calculate mechanical properties of composite materials by using the properties of the components and orientation tensor. This integration can be applied for prediction of composite properties on many kinds of materials, reducing time and cost for suppliers when it comes to optimization of mechanical properties.
