Abstract: Osteoarthritis is by far the most common disease in the elderly. It has a great impact on the health care system in every nation. Its cost not only includes the price of the medication and surgery but there are other indirect costs in the form of sick leaves, disability, consumption of hospital resources, and others. The traditional treatment depends mainly on analgesics which always have many side effects and almost always fail because the disease usually progresses to a more advanced level. The surgical treatment may cure the pain but it is very expensive and still also has the side effects of the surgery itself. New US patents (US9433798), (US9452297), (US9757583) looked at this disease process from another view. They discovered that osteoarthritis is a small piece of many other parts of a generalized disease affecting the whole body. The root of this condition is in the visceral fat while its summit is the painful osteoarthritic joint. Extensive research was done on the link between the visceral fat and the painful arthritic joint. The visceral fat always occurred before the appearance of arthritis. Therefore, every possible method was exerted to abort this problem at its very early stage. This may even be before the start of the pain which is called the treatment at the root level. This creates a new line of treatment other than medication and surgery. Moreover, this may be physiological, effective, cheaper, and more functional as well.

Abstract: The study focused on Assessment of workskill improvement needs of graduate of auto-electricity/electronics work in motor vehicle mechanic work in Enugu states of Nigeria. Four research questions guided the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study was hundred and ninety seven (197). The entire population constituted the sample because of the size of the population. A Ninety nine (99) item structured questionnaire was developed from the literature and used for data collection. Three experts validated the instrument. Cronbach alpha reliability method was used to determine the internal consistency of the instrument. A reliability coefficient of 0.88 was obtained. The data were analyzed using weighted mean and improvement needed index to determine the improvement needed by graduate of auto-electricity/electronics in motor vehicle mechanic work. The difference between the needed mean and performance mean i.e. (XN- XP) constituted the need gap for which improvement is needed by graduate of auto-electricity/electronics. It was found out from the study that graduate of auto-electricity/electronics in motor vehicle mechanic work needed improvement in seventy eight (78) out of ninety nine (99) identified items. Based on the findings from the study, appropriate recommendations were made.

Abstract: Collagen is the commonest protein in mammalian. Its function is thought to be only of structural support. New US patents claimed that it has another very vital role in the human body which is piezoelectricity. Most of the chronic diseases in the elderly are caused by the disturbance of this newly discovered function. The exact site of disturbance is defined as the site (Y) of collagen. Profound molecular and biomechanical studies were done at the site (Y) to determine its mechanical disturbance from the pathological point of view. As collagen is present all over the human body like bone, cartilage, the heart, brain, blood vessels, skin, even the sclera of the eye, its correction would recover most of the tissues of the human body. This paper discusses the site (Y) and its effect on piezo-electricity and its glycation. It discusses also all the factors that may affect the site (Y) either damaging or recovery in the hope of avoidance of all the destructive factors and enhancing the repairing ones. It is believed that this new method of thinking about the degenerative disease in the elderly could be treated perfectly, more physiological, and also at the root level. This is much better than treating each disease as a separate entity. Lastly and for most, this group of degenerative diseases has a great impact on the health care system and hospital resources of every nation. Thus, the recovery of these patients would save a huge amount of money spent in the health care system for these chronic and almost long-lived diseases.

Abstract: Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cells. They are linked only to energy production and some very rare cases of maternal diseases. Recent studies at Harvard University show that there is a cross-talk between the mitochondria and nucleus that is responsible for longevity and rejuvenation. These studies postulate that the talk is mainly done via an antegrade pathway through 3 genes namely Sirtuin, mTOR, and LINE-1. Meanwhile, a group of granted US patents (US9,757,583), (US9,452,297), (US9,579,520), (US9,433,798), (US9,795,802) had issued and discussed different methods of stimulation of the mitochondria. They claimed that there is another retrograde axis of the cross-talk. This axis depends on a mild increase of the nitric oxide (NO) that enhances the mitochondrial enzymes. The above patents also claimed that the retrograde axis has the upper hand over that of the antegrade axis in controlling the cross-talk process. It is believed that fighting the aging process could be much easier and accessible by the stimulation of the 2-way axes together.

Abstract: Infrared (IR) laser therapy has a good reputation for healing damaged tissue. Pulsed Electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF) also has a very beneficial effect in the healing of painful orthopedic diseases. The most important difference is in the wavelength where there is a great discrepancy between the above 2 waves. According to the Stimulated Emission of Albert Einstein in his explanation of Quantum Mechanics, it is impossible to link 2 or more electromagnetic waves except if they are of the same wavelength. The US patents (US9452297) & (US9757583) had issued to solve this problem of connection of the IR laser and PEMF. However, the discrepancy in the wavelength is huge but these patents exploited the mechanics of the hydrogen atoms to become the medium of connection between the above 2 electromagnetic waves. The newly merged electromagnetic wave has the advantages of both of them. Moreover, each one of them could augment the other. Therefore, it would be not only a combination but rather a synchronization. This would be considered a breakthrough for the non-invasive methods of treatment. Moreover, it is greatly recommended in a patient with pain who is in his/her end-stage condition like renal failure, hepatic failure, heart failure, and the IV stage metastatic cancer. The surgery or even medication may not be a perfect choice but this new modality may be the one.

Abstract: Infra-red (IR) laser therapy has a good reputation for healing and regeneration of damaged tissue. Many clinics in the US and Canada utilize this modality for treating arthritis (painful joints). This method has nearly no side effects if properly used. Indeed, it is very effective if the affected lesion is superficial or very near to the skin. Unfortunately, this method has a critical drawback. Its penetration capacity is limited to about 3.5 cm. Therefore, any lesion deeper than that, the treatment becomes useless. Granted US patents had been issued to solve that problem. These patents include (US 9795802, US 9579520, US9433798). They invented a long-beveled needle that could bypass the skin, subcutaneous tissues, muscle layer (s) if is present, and any other intervening tissues. The laser beam goes directly to the exact site of the lesion. Thus, they solved the problem of the prior art of infrared laser therapy. This also means the full amount of IR laser energy is saved from being lost in the skin and/or any other intervening tissue between the skin and the lesion. This new modality can cure the deep-seated and damaged tissues of the orthopedic system without any side effects if properly used. Therefore. the medication and surgery which are the main lines of treatment of orthopedic diseases could be avoided or at least reduced to the minimum. Lastly, this novel method is essential for the group of patients who are inoperable or are in their end-stage. Examples of these patients include end-stage renal failure, hepatic failure, heart failure, or stage IV of metastatic cancer. These patients may be in a severely painful condition because of arthritis but surgery and/or medication may not be allowed.

Abstract: Piezoelectric (PZE) materials are rarely used in modern medicine. They are the materials that can convert some of the mechanical stress into an electrical gradient difference (EGD). This could occur via the re-orientation of atoms inside these materials according to the rules of the electronegative momentum (ENM). It is believed that the suture materials have only one function of just an approximation of the edge of the wound till the healing is completed. Multiple US patents had been issued that changed the thinking about the repair of surgical wounds. These patents (US 9,782,513), (US 9,579,414), (US 9,849,210) claimed that the suture materials not only have to approximate the edges of the wound but also they could help in the acceleration of the healing process. The PZE materials could achieve this fundamental function via the production of the (EGD) that could be utilized by the ischemic cells at the edge of the wound to accelerate the healing process. Furthermore, they could stimulate the dormant adult stem cells in the deep layers of the wound that also help in the healing process. The acceleration of the healing process is associated with no or minimal scarring of the wound according to the Soft Tissue Healing Law. This would not only beneficial for the cosmetic purposes of the skin but also for the functional healing of the deep layers of the wound to avoid future contraction of the scar at its deep layers. Therefore, this new modality is beneficial at both the cosmetic and functional levels. Sadly, the (PZE) & (ENM) are almost unknown in the medical field by most surgeons.
