Abstract: The study uses quantitative research method and survey design was also adopted. The study was guided by four (4) research questions. The populations of this study comprises of all students that are available in the library that very hours of administering the questionnaires. The library accommodates approximately about 150 students. Therefore, 150 questionnaires were distributed to the population of the study whereas 120 questionnaires were duly returned. Descriptive statistics of frequency table, simple percentage were used to analyze the data for this study. The instrument was administered by the researcher. The study shows that, the majority of Federal University Lokoja students are visiting FUL Library. The most visiting students are with 70 (58.4%) of the response which indicates that they always visit FUL Library. Students are using the FUL Library more in reading both their notebook/text book, doing their assignment and as well using e-library. Students are highly satisfied with the available information resources in the FUL Library. Too much noise, inadequate setting facilities/space/place, and lack of WIFI are the most challenges associated with FUL Library followed by staffs are not friendly, rules and regulations/ overdue charges, library opening and closing hour, library services and also erratic power supply. 120 (100%) of the respondents indicate too much noise as the challenges associated with FUL Library, Among the recommendations: The management of FUL, Library should emphasize much on the library sensitization and awareness of the importance of library by organizing student orientation and library week so as to have more students in attendance. More current textbook should be provided and also be weeding those that are outdated so as to help the students in doing their assignment. Maintain high level of currency of their information resources so as to maintain higher level of patronization. Despite the size of the FUL Library is not big since it’s the take up site, both the students sitting area and the students reading area is not far from each other. Therefore, even with this, the library management should educate those staff that they should not be an obstacle to the student by making much noise. They should maintain the level of their noise. Subscribe of the WIFI for the students to able to assess online information resources and services. Library staff should learn to be friendly with students. The library rules and regulations should also be reviewed likewise library opening and closing hour should be reviewed; library services should also be advanced. Provision of library source of power supply either by using its own generator.

Abstract: Geometrical thinking is concerned with looking at not individual spatial objects, but whole classes of these objects grouped by one or more characteristics. Geometry itself as a science has a millennial history. As a scientific direction, it involves the study of logical connections between concepts with the help of Central consciousness intuition, that is, based on spatial imagination. Geometrical thinking is a very high level of thinking of this abstraction, and therefore it is a combination of spatial thinking, which implies logical thinking, aimed at working with spatial images and establishing the appropriate relationship between these images. The skill of studying geometry is to distinguish different geometric shapes from each other and know their important properties, the relationship between individual elements, draw clear drawings of a simple geometrical state, understand it and call the corresponding conclusions in their imagination on this drawing, solve the problems of constructing and calculating lengths, squares, volumes and their parts, dimensions of the elements, as well as The article gives some recommendations on the development of mathematical thinking, creative compensation of students on solving problems on the subject of geometry.

Abstract: Electronic media can be used to provide an effective means of curriculum delivery, enhancing learners experience using e-learning. In a rural setting, the Internet often proves difficult to access and many times inaccessible. This paper focuses on how an e-learning platform can be deployed on an intranet to solve this problem and improve curriculum delivery in rural area settings. An e-learning system of knowledge delivery was developed that provided e-learning service on the intranet of an academic institution of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State, Nigeria. The model was developed using Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE). A network server was used to run the software developed on Moodle platform. A total of eight (8) access points was set up to cover the polytechnic campus and these were connected to the server room via a 24-port Cisco switch. The switch was used to provide interconnectivity to the server and the server room wireless base station. The developed software model was deployed on the server over a wireless network facility to support about 2000 concurrent users (students) on the polytechnic campus. After implementation, the result shows that the developed system promised to positively affect the manner of knowledge delivery on campus which by extension will apply to a rural or remote area and can be adopted by other institutions and colleges having this challenge irrespective of their locations. The developed model can enhance curriculum delivery in rural settings where Internet access is not available.

Abstract: The complexities of doctoral experiences in many postgraduate schools have become insurmountable. Many doctoral students are facing numerous challenges in crossing the concept thresholds along the path towards achieving doctorate degree. With the experience of doctoral studies compared to rite of passage, many doctoral students face periods of confusion and disorientation hence the liminal period in pursuit of doctoral degree. Many doctoral students may find themselves engrained in ethical doctoral research challenges, issues, and dilemmas on a regular basis This paper looks at how doctoral liminality influences responsible conduct practices in doctoral research at Kibabii University, Kenya. The research engaged 13 doctoral candidates and 7 faculty members to evaluate the influence of doctoral liminality on responsible conduct practices in doctoral research. Data collection tools were validated at a content validity index of 0.83 while reliability index was 0.896. Descriptive (mean, frequency percentage and standard deviation) and inferential (in particular, regression) analyses were used. Findings indicate that doctoral liminality has statistically significant influence on responsible conduct practices in doctoral research. This should help higher education stakeholders to reassess the existing ethical research policies and execution frameworks. University managements are advised to pursue exemptional awareness and scrutiny on implementation of ethical practice in doctoral studies.

Abstract: In Tanzania, there has several education policies since independence of which the reform has been subject to political, socio-economic and technological demands. The Fee Free Education Policy implementation aimed at sparing parents from paying primary school fees and other contributions. However, parents remained responsible for their children’s school needs like school uniforms, school shoes, stationary and the like. This study evaluates the implementation of fee-free primary education policy focusing on success and challenges in Tanzania. The study used a mixed approach and case study research design. In data collection methods; semi-structured interviews, observations and documentary review were used. The quantitative data were analyzed by the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), while the qualitative data were analyzed by Free Qualitative Content Analysis (FreeQDA). Findings shows that the implementation of this policy has successfully increased the enrollment in public primary schools. Also, there is strict adherence to school capitation grants guidelines as provided by the government. The policy implementation was found to be facing several challenges, such as insufficient funds, lack of teaching and learning materials and lack of transparency. The study recommends involvement of educational stakeholders, particular teachers before formulating, revising or reforming educational policies as teachers are a the grassroot of policy implementation.

Abstract: The emergence of COVID-19 has seen widespread adoption and use of virtual interaction in business, academic, and other areas where hitherto their use was not imaginable just a few years ago. The adoption of virtual interactions has also seen growth in a number of service providers as well as enhancement of the quality of interactions. However, this advancement in virtual technologies does not guarantee their optimal use. This qualitative study’s main purpose was to explore discursive practices that impact virtual meeting experiences as they take place during the course of the doctoral supervisory process in Kenyan universities. The study used media richness theory and channel expansion theory to analyze the affordances of computer-mediated communication presented to the user to conduct virtual meetings. Drawing upon survey and interview transcripts, it was found that the choice of virtual meeting channel was based on the availability of technology and past experience enhanced the perception of the effectiveness of virtual meetings. This study proposes strategies for enhancing the virtual supervisory process based on the media richness theory, channel expansion theory, and research data. The strategy addresses the aspects of management of risks, virtual meeting etiquettes, supervisory relationship, and confidentiality as well as after the meeting follow-up. The proposed strategies will enhance academic interaction and can be used in similar interactions in other fields.
