Abstract: Multicast services grow up quickly and thus they urgently call for a secure mechanism to provide the confidentiality and privacy of communications. Recently, multicast issues in Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) networks have generated a great deal of interest among researchers, and several multicast schemes had been proposed. However, these schemes do not take security issues into account. In an attempt to fill that research gap, we propose a dual multicast key management scheme for secure group communications in PMIPv6-based Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks. This scheme satisfies the requirements for forward and backward secrecy. Moreover, the performance analysis demonstrates that the proposed scheme incurs low communication and storage costs. Finally, we provide guidelines for Internet service providers (ISPs) to select the suitable multicast key management architecture.

Abstract: The different Economic Dispatch (ED) problems have non-convex/non-smooth total fuel cost function with equality and inequality constraints which make it difficult to be effectively solved. Different heuristic optimization algorithms and stochastic search techniques have been proposed to solve ED problems in previous study. This paper proposes the Chaotic Modified Imperialist Competitive algorithms (CMICA) based on chaos maps to solve different ED problems in power systems. The proposed CMICA methods framework is applied to 10-, 15-, and 40-unit generator systems in order to evaluate its feasibility and efficiency. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed CMICA methods were indeed capable of obtaining higher quality solutions efficiently in ED problem.

Abstract: In this paper, an effort has been made to assess critically the performance of 5G Compatible LDPC encoded generalized pre-coding aided quadrature spatial modulation (GPQSM) scheme based wireless communication system. With adaptation of ZF pre-coding at the transmitter side under the utilization of 4-QAM digital modulation, data transmission is made through 4 ×6 multi antenna supported MIMO GPQSM system. The system incorporates Minimum mean square error (MMSE), Zero-Forcing (ZF), Zero-Forcing-Successive interference cancellation (ZF-SIC) and optimal Maximum-Likelihood (ML) signal detection schemes. Various LDPC iterative channel decoding algorithms such as Log Domain Sum-Product, Simplified Log-Domain Sum Product and Probability-Domain Sum Product have been used. It is observable from MATLAB based simulations that the LDPC encoded GPQSM system shows quite satisfactory performance under scenario of MMSE signal detection scheme.

Abstract: The research paper develops and implements computer aided software for the analysis of pelton turbine runner. The software design incorporates the use of Php programming language and MysQL for the data management system. Important constants and equation formulas were loaded into the database attached to the designed program. The software is design to eliminate the manual process of analysingpelton turbine runner so as to reduce stress, delay and established an excellent output. The software is capable of displaying the mass flow rate, velocity, area, diameter of jet, peripheral velocity, pitch circle diameter, specific speed & number of nozzle and the bucket development. The software shows a reasonable agreement between the results which indicates that it is free from mistakes and performs efficient faster operations which are reliable in analysingpelton turbine runner. The program is fully interactive, user-friendly and run on any operating system windows.

Abstract: Nigeria is blessed with abundant sunshine and as such there is an enormous potential for the utilization of solar energy all across the nation. Ilorin, Kwara State is among the North-Central regions in Nigeria and has a latitude and longitude of 8.4799oN and 4.5418oE respectively with a land area of about 765 sq. km. and an elevation of 307.4m above sea level making it one of such locations in the nation having a good solar irradiation. Solar irradiation in Nigeria varies according to location and for different times of the year according to the weather and climate of such locations. As such depending on the tilt or orientation of the solar panels with respect to the sun, the solar irradiation hitting the solar panels differs. This paper using a solar system configuration where the solar panels direction is positioned facing directly south and having a tilt angle of 82 degrees seeks to provide a prototype for the design of a solar energy system whereby residential apartments especially 2-bedrooms in rural locations having no access to the nation’s electricity grid could have a better, cleaner and more efficient alternative source of energy.

Abstract: In many developing countries such as Nigeria, power supply is still very epileptic. This has resulted in the flight of top class industries. The only surviving firms are banks, hotels, gas stations and their likes. This paper therefore presents a scheme where cluster of banks located within the bank road in Owerri Metropolis at the Eastern part of Nigeria can generator-pool. It explains the concept involved, presents the justification of the scheme, and classifies various loads obtainable in these firms into levels based on priority, wherein the must run loads are assigned to level one; and the less critical loads follow consecutively. The requisite criteria for the firms’ co-operation to ensure stability of the arrangement are also presented. Finally, a clearly worked out sequence of operation of the scheme is presented with an implementation flowchart. The full modelling and other technical components of the scheme are on-going.
